Decisions, decisions, decisions...what move to make?

http://www.flickr.com/photos/69065182@N00/9711274502
Oh the quandaries we find ourselves in from time to time.  Often we've dug the hole so deep we can't figure out how to get out and then frustration sets in and you wonder if it's really worth getting out of.  I can't think of a time in life when we aren't going to be faced with making decisions.  Some will be simple, some complex, and others will be down right mind boggling.  There are those who run from making the difficult decisions and others who thrive on the moment and often fabricate situations that warrant a decision.  No matter where you fall on the spectrum, you are going to make a zillion decisions in your life time, wouldn't it be nice to always have the feeling that you are in control of the decisions you make?

There have been so many times in my life when I have run away from making the difficult decisions. It wasn't that I couldn't make them, more often than not it was because I didn't want to make them.  I knew what I had to do, problem was I didn't really want to do the one thing that would have solved all my problems.  Now I know I'm not the only person who has been in this position, and so today I want to encourage you to take the big step and do what needs to be done.

What stops people from making a decision?  In my opinion, I would have to say that fear is what stops most people.  Fear of what might happen.  Fear of what you might be leaving behind.  Fear of what you might be missing out on.  The list of those things we fear when it comes to making a decision is a mile long.  However, allowing fear to dictate your actions, or lack of action, is one of the worst things you can do.  We as humans have a tendency to make things worse then they are.  We come up with all kinds of scenarios and when it's all said and done most of these scenarios never play out.  We often ponder a decision, often taking years and years, and then we kick ourself in the ass when everything works out and we wonder why we wasted all that time with worry and fear.

So how long are you going to put off making a decision?  You see, making a decision to make a decision is often the hardest thing you might do, but doing nothing is never going to change the situation you might be facing.  I get how hard it can be to pull the trigger.  I completely understand that we often put off making decisions because of how it might affect others, or worse yet how it might affect us.  The bottom line is that until such time as you move forward, what ever situation you may be facing is only going to get worse.  Slowly but surely you will spiral out of control and then what you were originally facing is going to be a hundred times worse.  I'm not trying to prophesy doom and gloom.  What I'm trying to do is encourage you to do what is right for you, and move ahead in those things that are going to serve you best.

When it comes to making a decision the one thing that should be front and center is what will it mean to you.  If you do not put your best interest ahead of all other things, then you are going to be making the biggest mistake of your life.  Putting yourself first is not selfishness.  Putting yourself first is allowing you to be the person you were always intended to be, and anything less then being your authentic self is going to rob the world of a huge gift.  As much as you might want to help the world, you can't be all things to all people until you are all things to yourself.  If you are not whole and complete then how can you give to others what they need?  There are people who make the decision to do for themselves, but their motive is anything but pure.  Their desire to have it all is not because they can do good with what they have, but to feel superior to the rest of mankind.  Being in a place of knowing who you are is a healthy place.  Knowing your true purpose is a healthy place.  All decisions you make should be focused on knowing the real you.  When you decide to get to know the real you then and only then can you affect the change that this world is in need of.

I'm not sure what you might be facing today, but I do know, as Mr. Rohn says, "You cannot make progress without making decisions."  Yes the outcome right now might be unknown to you.  The ramifications of whatever decision you make might seem scary, but know this:  there is nothing that you do right or wrong that can't be looked at again and fixed if need be.  I've made some huge mistakes in my life, but I'm still here right now, and I'm still doing what I love most in life.  It would be great if we never had to face making a difficult decision, but each of us have been there before now and will be there again someday.  Right or wrong, good or bad, it matters not.  What matters is that you stood courageously and did what had to be done.

Yes decisions can be scary, but not nearly as scary as what will come about if you fail to make a decision that needs to be made.  Fear is never the right motivator when it comes to making decisions, so take fear out of the picture.  Know that all things work together in the Universe to get you to the point you need to be at.  You can always change a decision made, what you can't change is what happens when you refuse to make a decision, big or small.  Rest in the knowledge that all good will come from a decision you make, when that decision is made from a good place, and that place is always your heart.  Think about it...

There was a time.....

http://www.flickr.com/photos/50072709@N02/26548061396
There was a time when life was everything it was supposed to be: fun, full of laughter, care free, and a future that looked so promising.  There was a time when all you could think about was what adventure was going to take place today, and how were you going to be a part of it.  There was also a time when dreams seemed real, where all you had to do was imagine things, and things were.  What ever happened to those times?  When did they disappear, and why is it you lost them in the first place?

When you were a child it seemed like all things were possible.  You hadn't yet been conditioned by society to think a particular way, or do things another way.  When you were just a small child you never gave much thought to where your next meal was going to come from.  You always seemed to have new clothes, a warm bed to sleep in, and the occasional special surprise gift just because you were you.  If life was so great as a child, why in the world have most adults left their childhood at the doorstep?  Why if life was so simple back then have so many adults departed from what made life so almost perfect?  We've been told it's time to grow up.  We've been instructed to put away childish things and act our age.  We've even been told that there's nothing worse then someone who refuses to grow up.  Well, I'm not so sure that we did ourselves any favors by throwing out the child in us, and I'm certain that there is a part of everyone who somehow would love to rekindle those times when life was simple, joyful, and free from most of the concerns that people carry around with them today.

When was the last time you were truly carefree?  When was the last time you looked at each day as a blessing and as an opportunity to try something new, experience something new?  When was the last time you simply threw other's expectations out the window and made the decision to do things your own way?  If you are like most people the answer to each of these questions is " it was a long, long, long time ago."  Maybe it's time we turn things around and treat life as if we were children again.  Face it, if you knew then what you know now, your life would be completely different.  Looking at it another way, if you could see life right now as you did when you were a child, how different would life be for you right now?

There's really nothing worse in life then always thinking about, or going back to another time.  A time when life was as it should be and maybe not as it is right now.  How great would it be right now if all you had to do was think about each day as a new adventure and how much fun it was going to be on that adventure?  I dare say that there would be very few people who given the opportunity to turn things around would choose to stay stuck in the life they have at this moment.  I want to enjoy every minute of my life.  I want to look at each day as that new adventure.  I never want to have to go back to a time when all I could do was what was expected of me.  If I can't be me, then what's the point of going forward, and trust me if you are not free to be the unique you, then there is very little chance of you truly moving forward.

Children have the ability to look at things and see the truth, to see the joy, and the reason this is so is because they haven't been jaded by others.  Sadly there will come a time when they will fall victim to the conditioning that all of us have been subjected to, but how great would it be if each of us was able to void ourselves of what others have demanded and simply be who and what we were created to be? Just think about it, a life free from expectations, free from judgments, and free from the constraints that we have found ourselves operating in.

So allow me to go back to the carefree question.  If you have to think about the answer, if it takes you longer then just a few seconds, then I can pretty well bet that it has been some time since you were carefree.  Carefree means just that, free from care.  Free from the burdens of life, or at least those things that have been a burden to you.  Being carefree means you look at tomorrow with hope, you treat today as an adventure, and you simply look at yesterday as a lesson that needed to be learned.  It's so easy to get wrapped up in the worry of today.  It's not hard to forget about your tomorrows because you are focused on too many yesterdays.   Today I'm going to recommend that you forget about putting on your big boy pants, your big girl panties, and simply live like a child.  If you can see the excitement of doing the little things, then those little things will turn into bigger things, and then the excitement will grow and grow, and then grow some more.

What I would love for you to do is to begin saying there was a time when you allowed the true you to be stifled, but that is no longer the case, and from this day forward I am going to see things as I used to see them.  You see, there was a time when life was perfect, and the time is right to pick up that perfection again, and walk into a new life that is as childlike as childlike can be.  The child is still very much in you, what you forgot to do was let it out.  Well it's time to come out and play again, and when you do, you just may see life a little differently, and you may begin to see life the only way it was ever intended to be seen, through the eyes of a child.

Step out of the darkness and into the light

http://www.flickr.com/photos/13519154@N06/27161063105"
When you're faced with a seemingly impossible task, when you're backed up against a wall simply fighting for your life, when all you desire seems to be running from you instead of toward you, it's very difficult to believe that you have the ability to step out into the light from the darkness.

When I sit down to write I close out the rest of the world.  I'm not thinking about my bills, or what deadlines might be approaching.  When I sit down to write I feel like I'm in the right place, doing the right thing, and doing it at the right time.  When I'm writing I feel a connection to the real me, and the real me is what I endeavor to walk around as each moment of every day.  What stops most people is that they are so entrenched in the darkness of things that it is nearly impossible for them to see even the smallest glimmer of light.

Today I want to encourage you to stop looking at the darkness that might be around you and try to simply recognize the little glimmer of light.  This tiny bit of light has enough power to light up your entire world.  We all recognize the fact that there is darkness in the world, but what some have forgotten is that darkness must leave as soon as light is introduced into any situation.  Step into a darkened room and light a match, what happens to the darkness?  It vanishes, and so too will the darkness in your life vanish the moment you introduce light into it.  So what is the light in your life?

Your light is the knowledge of who and what you are.  If you intend to battle the darkness then your quiver needs to be full with an understanding of your incredible power.  Your battle armor is nothing more then your undiluted acceptance of your destiny and an unbridled desire to walk in that destiny.  Think about this:  if right now in this moment you could be doing those things you have always dreamt about doing, how would you be feeling? If you were right smack dab in the middle of doing something you truly loved doing, do you really think there would be any room for darkness to come in and overtake you?  Your light, the light that will light up your path, the light that will chart your course, is nothing more then your acceptance of your divine nature.

If you were blindfolded and brought into a dark room you would have no idea what was in the room. You might try to imagine things, but it would only take a short period of time until your mind began to play with you and all those things that go bump in the night would be showing up in your darkened room.  The only way for you to fully understand your surroundings would be to introduce light into the room.  It is only when the light is present that you are able to see how things really are.  Well as simple as it may sound, the same can be said about your life right now.  If you will introduce light into your life then the darkness goes away and you are able to fully comprehend those things that are all around you.

When I find myself in a dark place, a place of uncertainty, a place of fear or doubt, I simply step toward the light that is in me.  I think about who I am, why I am here, and I begin to do those things that I was sent here to do.  When I am having doubts about things I find solace in my writing.  I know that I am in the right place when I am doing what I love most.  Think about it this way:  how can there be darkness when you are doing what you love?  I'm telling you that it is impossible to be in darkness when you are doing what you love.  Conversely, if you never do what you truly love can you be in anything other than darkness?  Face it, life was never meant to be a place of torment.  Life is supposed to be exciting, full of promise, and centered around love.  Love for what you do, love for others around you, and love for a life that is so full of joy and happiness it should almost be illegal.

If you desire to rid yourself of darkness, then forget about what you think you can't do and go after those things that put a smile on your face.  When you start a fire you don't simply place a match to a large hunk of wood. You began by lighting the match and lighting some straw.  Once the straw catches fire you place some small sticks on it.  Once the sticks get going it's time for small branches, and once the branches ignite, well then it's time for the logs.  So start out small.  Do something that simply brings a smile to your face.  Once you do that build upon it, and before you know it, step by step, moment by moment, you are edging closer to your destiny, to being the person you were always intended to be.  There will never be darkness when you are walking in your destiny and doing what you love to do.  There will never be darkness when you fully understand the grandness of who and what you are.  There will never be true darkness in you because the truth of who you are is already in you, you simply have to be willing to discover it.  You are light, and in the presence of light, darkness cannot exist.  Think about that for a while and then go out there and light up the world.

There's power in numbers.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/45935639@N02/26331742481
Imagine for just a moment a world where everyone was on the same page, where there was no room for ego, and where the only thing that mattered was what you could do to make someone else's life just a little bit better.  Imagine if you will a society who put the needs of others ahead of its own personal desires and wishes.  Can you ever see this happening where you live?  Where you work?  Is the thought of living in Utopia just a pipe dream, or is there a small part of you that wishes that Utopia was right now?

There's an old saying that says "many hands make light work."  The more people involved with something, then obviously the more you should expect to get done.  We've all heard of the 80/20 Rule:  80 percent of the work is generally going to be done by only 20 percent of the people.  Face it, most people are so busy just trying to survive, or trying to get some where on the societal scale of success, that they haven't the time to be part of something that ultimately could change the face of humanity.  What I want you to see today is that there is truly power in numbers, and the more who believe in the individual power of a person, the easier it's going to be to get others to see their own power as well.

When you look at the world's population, an estimated 7 plus billion people, have you ever given any thought to how many of those people are solid in the knowledge of their own personal power, or even the significance of their own being in relationship to the rest of the ever expanding Universe?  I was having this discussion with two very close friends the other day, and to be honest I found it almost impossible to even venture a guess.  Is it 1 percent of the population?  Is it 2 percent, or maybe even a little higher?  Is it .00000001 percent of the world's population that has a real understanding of what it is to walk in our own power?  I'm not sure that even the best computer in the world could figure out a correct number.  What I know is this:  unless you begin to understand your own power, the power that was in you the moment of your birth, it doesn't really matter what others believe, or even if 10 percent of the population was walking around all powerful.

The foundation of anything you desire to do, anything you desire to be, must start with an understanding of your incredible power.  It doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to figure out those who understand who and what they are, verses those who haven't the foggiest notion of what it is to walk in the majesty of their own design.  Just look at some of the faces of those you come in contact with on a daily basis.  Listen to some of the comments of those around you.  Are people talking about how great life is, or are they simply willing to role with the punches and accept mediocrity?  Face it, there are those out in society who want nothing more then for you to stay stuck in the Proverbial Mud.  It gives them something to gloat over, or at least something for them to feel good about.

Real power, absolute power is not something you earn, it isn't something that comes to you because the Board of Directors voted on it.  True power is something that you have always had, but simply never accepted it.  Power is not something you lord over people with, rather it is something that should empower others to discover their greatness.  Power is something that should inspire, motivate, encourage, and otherwise equip others to reach and discover the destiny within.  You have power because you have a purpose.  You have power because you are part of that which created you.  If we were truly created in the image of God, why is it so many around us are crying out to God for comfort, or rescue, or even just a simpler life not filled with tragedy and regret?  Man is the culprit in as much as man has conditioned us to believe in our own limitations.  Sadly our limitations are there because we have never fully understood or accepted the power we have to create.

True power, universal power is void of ego.  True power does not measure against anyone or anything else.  I go back to my original question, what would the world be like if every individual knew of, understood, and walked in their own power?  The landscape of our planet would be quite different.  I can assure you we would not be having the "Shit" show that is our current political climate.  I apologize for the slight detour, but I had to get that off my chest.   People don't walk in the power of creation because they simply don't believe in the power of creation.  People walk around void of power because they have yet to realize that there is another option.  What would your life be like right now if you had the ability to call forth anything you desire?  What would life be like right now if you could have or do anything you wanted?  What would life be like right now if you simply got out of bed in the morning with an expectation of great things to follow?

When you finally understand who and what you are, you will realize that there is so much more to life then what you get to get out of it.  What you are able to do for others is what will drive you.  Helping to create a world that understands destiny is what will be your task, and as more and more people understand this, then those many hands will indeed lighten the load for everyone else.  Tap into your power.  Walk in your power.  This is what the rest of humanity needs, and quite frankly let's be honest, it's what you need as well.

Reach for the stars

http://www.flickr.com/photos/23409752@N08/25626842713
I don't know of anyone alive today, who hasn't had something they truly desire.  We all have dreams, most everyone has aspirations, and there are even a few of you who have visions of doing something extraordinary.  I'm one who believes in going after everything in life.  There is a quote that I have used in quite a few of my books, and I've even used it in my blog, so maybe it's time to dust it off and use it again.  "I would rather attempt something great an fail, then attempt nothing at all and succeed."

Now before anyone goes about trying to split hairs, I'm not saying that failure is an acceptable alternative to success.  We will all fail from time to time, but if you are willing to give it a second, and maybe even a third try at something, eventually you are going to find success.  What the quote is saying is that don't sit back on your laurels.  There's nothing wrong with reaching for the stars.  It doesn't matter how big or how small your goals might be, how ornate or far fetched the dream, going after what is in your heart is in fact reaching up to the universe and grabbing a star with both hands.

I have been around people who are so fearful of failure that they never get into the race.  I don't discount the fact that there are times when most of us have had doubts about something.  It might be something we are thinking about trying, it might be as insignificant as who am I going to ask to the company party.  Fear and doubt are two things that will stop any dream, no matter how big or how small the dream is.

When you look at the design of the universe, and your place in the ever expanding universe, if you cannot see that you are connected to all things, then you are never going to fully understand your capabilities, nor will you ever fully walk in those things you were intended to walk in.  How many times have you run an idea by someone only to have that someone crap all over it, or simply tell you why it could never happen the way you imagine it?  How many times have you kept silent about something you wanted to do simply because you didn't want to deal with the ridicule that was sure to follow by those who you count as dear friends?  How many times have you cried out in the night for some relief because you wanted something so desperately and yet you hadn't yet figured out a way to get it?  I will tell you that I have been victim to each of these scenarios.

We are all going to face hurdles in life.  Some we can simply jump over, while others may take a little more maneuvering to get around.  The key is to keep moving, and never give up.  Now there will be days when you simply haven't got anything else to give.  You've been beat up so much, and fought for so long, that you simply have nothing more in you.  If you are at this point don't fear, you are not alone.  There's nothing wrong with taking a step back, taking a deep breath, and then just resting.  You can only charge forward for so long before you have to take a break.  There is no shame in taking a breather every now and again.  I have a theory.  We've all been around those people who are constantly striving for something.  They never stop and they make sure that everyone around them knows that they never stop.  They thrive off the adrenalin rush but here is their fatal flaw:  they don't know the real them.  The person they think they are is the person that was fabricated by others.  It was trying to fit into what others expected, and not necessarily what they wanted.  I've been there, and sooner or later you are going to discover that this isn't a place you want to occupy for very long.

Reaching for the stars is not a race, and it's not a contest to see who has the bigger vision or the grandest dream.  Reaching for the stars is nothing more then accepting what you know to be truth, what you know to be in your heart, and being open to where ever that takes you. It doesn't matter what your dream is, what matters is that it is your dream.  Don't fall into the trap that so many before you have fallen into.  Too many people measure their dreams against other people's dreams.  If someone has done something amazing there is always someone who will try to out do them.  No one will ever be able to accomplish the things you were intended to accomplish in the way that you were intended to accomplish them.  You don't have to measure up to anyone else, your dreams don't have to measure up to anyone else.  There is not a yard stick to measure what you do verses someone else. If you will simply follow your own dream, then you will eventually get to the place that was designed for you the moment you entered this mortal plane.

Reaching for the stars is something we should all be doing.  When you stop going after those things that you truly believe in, you stop living.  When you give up on your dreams, you slowly begin to die.  If you will always go after those things that mean the most to you, you will always be young, you will always be alive, and you will always, always, be the person that the rest of the world needs you to be.  If you haven't already, start reaching for the stars.  Your life will change, the lives of those around you will change, and then that is the time when life really begins to be what it was always intended to be:  joyful, harmonious, and filled with laughter and oh so full of love.

Let me let you in on a little secret.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/137169575@N04/24978854231
Secrets are fun.  Secrets are often titillating.  Secrets can bring out the curious in all of us, and often there is a child like excitement when you are brought into the middle of a juicy story about something.  So today I am going to let you in on a little secret, but this time I'm going to recommend that you don't keep it to yourself, rather you tell the whole world.

Are you ready for it?  Do you think you'll be able to handle it?  Do you even want to know what it is? Ok enough of me trying to get you excited about what is about to be revealed to you.  Don't you hate it when you have a certain expectation, and once you find yourself in the middle of what ever it was you were excited about, all you can think about is what a let down?  Well it is my earnest desire that you don't walk away from today with empty hands, but rather a new expectation of the future, and just how wonderful that future is going to be for you.

OK enough of the build up, here you go.  The secret that man has been running away from, that man has nearly forgotten, and that man doesn't really want you to know: You're much more then just flesh and blood.  You're not just a human who occasionally might have a spiritual experience.  You are in fact a spiritual being who just so happens to inhabit a mortal body.  By virtue of being a spiritual being then you are entitled to operate spiritually.  Man has made it a point over the last few thousand years to discourage others from experiencing the truth wealth of spirituality.  Why?  Because if you were to really walk in your spirituality then man would have no hold on you.  Man would never be able to control you again, and if man could not control you, then man could never use you or take advantage of you.   Man's desire to keep you in the dark was to protect the status quo, and not take away from those who were trying to control every aspect of everyone else's life.

Being spiritual is being who you were created to be.  We were never intended to live a life that has been reduced to a whole list of what isn't possible.  Being spiritual doesn't mean you are never going to be challenged or that things are going to be perfect in your life.  Being spiritual simply means that the basis of who you are is not what others say about you, think about you, but what you know to be true.  Being spiritual is knowing at your core that you were placed here to do more then simply survive and try to make it through each day of your life.  Being spiritual is knowing that no matter what life might throw at you, you have the ability to do whatever it is that you desire.

It's funny but when you say to someone that so and so is spiritual, what do you think goes through that other person's mind.  "Oh he or she is some whack job, smokes pot, and chants to all hours of the night."  We've allowed what others think or say cloud our own ability to fully grasp the essence of who and what we are.  Funny how things that people don't fully understand often become the objects of ridicule and how they are discounted.  I get how it's easier to crap on something you don't understand, that you don't want to look at, or that may have passed you by.  I get how it's easier to make others out as the nut jobs and you walk around like the normal one.  People often fear what they don't know, and trust me, most people don't know what true spirituality is.

Why do you think you're here right now?  I mean really, what could have been so important that you were placed here in that body of yours, having gone through whatever it was you have gone through? What kind of God, if there is a God, would place you here in this frail body to simply go through a life that has been anything but sheer joy and happiness?  Now don't get me wrong, I believe in God.  By what I find hard to believe in is a God who would create something just for the sake of watching it  wither on the vine of life.  Look at your body.  Isn't it amazing how complicated it is, and yet it manages to work for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  You don't have to tell your heart to pump blood, or your lungs to take in air.  It simply does it.  We are a marvel.  Well if you can marvel at how your body functions, why is it so damn difficult to marvel at how your spiritual side functions?

Everyone is spiritual, some have taken advantage of their spiritual side, while others have distanced themselves from it because quite frankly they don't understand it.  God forbid there should be something that they don't understand, and if they can't understand it, well then it must be wrong, or worse yet, right out of the pits of hell.  When you can begin to tap into the wealth of your spiritual side, then you will be tapping into a well that will never go dry, that will feed you day in and day out, and that will become a well spring to others around you.

Sadly being spiritual should be no secret at all.  We shouldn't have to hide in shame because we are spiritual, nor should we bury the core of who we are.  The secret to life is not really a secret at all.  The secret to life is to open up to what you are.  Your spirit is eternal.  Your spirit is forever.  Forever is a long long time, but forever means in both directions meaning you have always been and will always be.  As hard as that may be to comprehend, once you can understand the significance of your being, then you can begin to understand the significance of you being here right now.  Think about that.

Plug into the real you.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/52766811@N06/23963283703
Tap, Tap, Tap, Tap.  When's the last time you tapped into the real you?  When's the last time you experienced the total awesomeness of being aware of your talents and abilities?  When's the last time you embraced your power and really began to own it?

Sadly there are many who will never understand the power within.  They have bought into the premise that they are simply tiny, itty bitty cogs in the wheel of life, and there isn't a whole lot they can do to change their life's trajectory.  First off, this is false.  False, false, false!  You are now, you have always been, and will always be a part of this powerful, authentic universe.  As a part of the ever expanding universe you are entitled to operate in an ever expanding life.  This life should be full of possibilities, opportunities, and otherwise wonderful beyond what you can even imagine.

The real you is not the you that may have had difficulties.  The real you is not the person who always seems to need things, and wonders if what they need will ever be present in their life.  The real you is capable of doing what ever is in their heart to do.  You are fully equipped to do what you were placed here to do.  If you are still trying to figure out what life is all about, maybe it's time to tap into the real you.

Power is not something to lord over people with.  There are plenty of people out there who try to use power to get what they want.  I've seen people whose only desire is for others to witness how powerful they are, or at least how powerful they think they are.  Power is never something to use against others.  Power is not some status symbol so the more you have the better you are.  Power should be something you walk in, but it should never be used as a badge of honor, nor as a measuring stick for how you stack up against someone else.  Those who have to show others how much power they have really don't understand power, and really don't know how to wield it.  I have found that the most powerful people in the world are those you would never suspect as having any power what-so-ever.

Your power is unlimited, and quite frankly the only limits that you will set will be based on your inability to fully understand the power you have.  I know there are those who will scoff at what I am writing, but these are the very same people who have rejected what is truly theirs to have and instead have settled for what man has said is normal, or appropriate.  My friends, you don't walk in your power because you simply don't believe you have the power.  I promise you that the moment you reach out and accept this premise, your life will fundamentally change forever.  The moment you refuse to succumb to the conditioning of man and instead walk in your own power will be the day that you see the world in an entirely different light.

Let me ask you this:  has what you've been doing worked for you up to this point?  Certainly there are plenty of people out there who have a measure of success.  There are all kinds of people who are happy with their life.  That being said, I have a firm belief, because I see it every day, that there are people out there who would give almost anything change things up in their lives.  There are millions of people out there who have almost given up on their dreams for one reason or another.  There are millions of people out there who have almost given up on life.  I know because I was one of those people.  I had sunk so low that for me the desire was for it all to end.  I'm here to tell you that the moment you begin to understand your own personal power, that is the moment that you will see and understand how everything you have gone through has brought you to this very special moment in time.

Your ability to create your own reality is unlimited.  Your future is going to be based on those things you do today, on the thoughts you have today, and on the feelings you are having even now.  When you begin to understand the power within you to create, the power within you to prosper, the power within you to heal, that will be the time when you will begin to really experience life the way life is supposed to be.  I still have a long way to go to fully understand the power of the universe, but what I know is this:  the power which existed at the beginning of time is the very same power that I have flowing through my body.  It has taken me years to understand what I understand now, and even though I have a ways to go, I know more now then I ever imagined I would know.  It is time to forget how others may have portrayed you.  It is time to step away from the canvas of how others have painted you.  It is time to step out into your own power, the power that is big enough to change the face of humanity.

Our power is unlimited because the universe is unlimited.  Remember, you are not just a small tiny cog in the wheel of life.  The part you have to play in the course of human events is huge.  Your destiny may only be to change the lives of a few select people, but the changes that come to them because of your willingness to be the real you might very well affect millions of people.  There is no more important destiny to you then your own destiny, and your own destiny is what the rest of the world needs you to walk in.

A defining moment.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/91423413@N02/16515699706
There is one defining moment in each of our lives that will firmly set your feet upon the path that was always intended for you.  The question I have for you today is will you be brave enough to embrace this defining moment, or will you simply ignore it, or even run from it, and continue on doing what has always been done, and in the manner that it has always been done?

I was at a workshop the other day that I had been invited to attend.  During the first part of the event I found myself in a very familiar place, one that I had found myself in quite frequently over the past few months.  This time however was just a little different because I was ever so much more aware of who I was, what I was capable of doing, and just how privileged I was to be here in this moment.  I was seeing things much more clearly then I had ever seen them before, and with this new vision of myself I knew that I was about to embark on another journey, one that had been charted long ago.

Were do we begin this journey?  Many try to start by defining what the journey is all about.  Sadly it is hard to define something that we are unfamiliar with.  Each person's journey is different.  What works for one is not necessarily going to work for someone else.  We can learn from others, but we must also embrace our own selves if we are ever going to understand where we are supposed to go and what we are supposed to do.  How do you see yourself right now?  Do you see yourself as one who has failed in the past, will fail again in the future, and will always have to work twice as hard as the next person simply to maintain?  Do you see yourself as someone who given the right set circumstances might be able to do some incredible things, or will there always be someone who is just a little more gifted, a little luckier then you, and therefore will steal the limelight away from you?

My friends we have to get to the point where we not only see the greatness that resides in each of us, but we also embrace it.  There have been many successful people who have walked this planet.  Some have done what we might classify as doing the impossible, while others have given up simply because they were not able to understand that failure, as John Wooden said is not fatal.  In my book, failure is only fatal if you allow it to define you, and if you simply surrender to it.

If every single person alive today could understand the power that was embedded into them there would be no failures, no unfulfilled dreams, and the landscape of this world would be completely different then it is right now.  If I told you that you process the power to fundamentally change the face of humanity would you believe me or would you simply discount it?  If I told you that your creation was intended because you need to be a part of a movement that will fundamentally change the face of humanity, would you believe me?  Now there will be some who will resonate with all of this and will be looking for ways to be a part of this movement.  Others may be a little cynical of this whole idea, but there is still apart of them that is intrigued.  The question then arises is the intrigue big enough to get them to make a move?  Regrettably there will a large segment of the population who will simply ignore all of this, or worse will try to discourage others from even thinking about what could come of this revolutionary way of seeing things.  My friends there is a revolution that is about to take place.  This revolution is not going to be fought with bombs or planes, or anything military.  This revolution is going to start in the mind of those who can grasp the power and greatness within themselves, and it will spread like wild fire.

We are not limited beings.  We are creative beings, and we have the power to create.  We have been so conditioned to believe we are limited.  Limited by our education or lack there of.  We are limited by where we live, or where we came from.  We are limited because we may not have the financial resources needed to do what we want to do.  This is all such a pile of BS.  Let go of the conditioning of man and start to see yourself for who you really are.  Change may not come overnight for you, but if you can't let go of past conditioning, past failures, or past fears, then I can assure you that change will never come and you will never be able to be the person you're supposed to be.

Let today be your defining moment.  Let today be the day that you say no more: no more fear, no more failure, and no more caring about what others think, but rather you accepting what you know to be true.  The truth of who you really are has always been inside of you.  The truth of what you can do has always been inside of you.  The truth of your intended path to walk has always been inside of you.  It's time to face the truth, embrace the truth, and walk in that truth.  Allow all of this to rest inside of you, let it grow, nature it, and then watch as your life changes in front of your own eyes.  It is time to accept greatness, time to accept power, and time once and for all to accept that you have been placed here to change this planet.  You are not alone, will never be alone, so get out there and do what you were created to do.

Are you still waiting for the call?

http://www.flickr.com/photos/124131999@N05/22389615419
"Oh my God I can't take this." "OK, anytime now!"  "Ring Damn it, just ring."  "Is anyone out there, anyone?"  Most everyone has been on this side of the conversation when you are waiting for something.  The job interviewer said they would let you know by the end of the day.  The casting director, who was kind enough to bring you in for a second audition, said they would be letting you know.  With each passing minute, which turns to hours, you wonder why the call hasn't come.  Are you just fooling yourself thinking that it will be good news, or is there this feeling of dread that in the end you are going to be passed over again?  Often there is nothing worse then waiting for the call.

If or when you have been in this position of waiting for a call, what has been going through your mind?  Are your thoughts ones of excitement because you know it is going to be good news, or do your thoughts take you down the road of "looks like another one slipped away"?  Often when we want something so bad our mind likes to play with our emotions.  We often find ourselves thinking about what we don't want instead of what we truly desire.  This is because we often fall back on bad habits, and those habits are hard to break.

There's a saying out there that says, "Let go and let God."  There was a time when I didn't put much faith in that statement, but that's only because I was the type who had to control every aspect of my life and would never let anything fall to chance.  Having been burned numerous times because of my actions I have learned that the Universe is far more able to handle all of my situations far better then me.  I'm not saying to not do anything, what I'm saying is to let go of your worry, your fears, your doubts, and just be open to things that you may never have given thought to before.  There's nothing wrong with doing prep work.  You might study something, you might train for something, that's all good.  Preparing for things is not a waste of time, but worrying about when the phone is going to ring, now that's a colossal waste of time.  I get human nature, trust me I'm just as human and just as prone to making mistakes as anyone.  I know how tough it can be when you want something so bad and I also know how the mind will try to screw with you while you're waiting for an answer.

How much time do we waste when we are sitting around waiting for the call to come in?  Instead of just sitting there waiting, why not do something constructive.  Why not do anything that will take your mind off what you undoubtedly can't stop thinking about?  Here's why it's important to take you mind off things:  the longer you dwell on something the more likely it is that you are going to start worrying about things.  Once you start worrying about things you begin to construct all the reasons why you can't have what you want.  Once you begin building barriers to the things you want, well then guess what, you probably aren't going to get what you want.  Do something, do anything that will take your mind off what you are waiting for.  Believe it or not I bake cookies.  You can do anything you want as long as it takes your mind off things and your hands off the panic button.

It's so easy to sit around and worry about things, but all that time you spend worrying about things, what has it done for you?  Has it changed your situation?  Has it added any good thing to your life?  When you spend all your time waiting for the call to come in you are simply wasting time.  If I could have all the time back that I wasted worrying I'd have years returned to me.  Face it time spent worrying about things is time you will never get back.

I understand that certain things take time to manifest.  It's what you do with your time in-between the initial thought and the final manifestation.  You really have two choices: you can either move on with your life and do something that is going to benefit you, or you can sit around and wait for the phone to ring.  What makes more sense to you?  I want to get  back on the radio and eventually back on TV. Now I have two choices: I can sit and wait for a producer to call me with the offer, or I can move forward and do things that will get me to my desired location.  If I choose to sit and wait I can assure you that in only a short amount of time I am going to be thinking about all the reasons why I can't have a show and why I'm just wasting my time.  If I choose to move forward and prepare for my show have I lost anything in the process?  Not in the slightest, and if anything it is going to create excitement in my life, and we all now that excitement brings more excitement.

It's time to get off your butt, stop waiting for the phone to ring, and simply do something.  If you will put effort into anything you will see results.  If you will start doing something then you will stop waiting for the phone to ring, and before you know it the call that you have been waiting for all of your life will reach you.  You've heard the saying that an idle mind is the devil's playground.  This is very true, but it's only true because idle time is time that allows you to think things that are better off being un-thought.  Stop sitting around and start doing.  Certainly what you start with is not what you are going to end with, but if you never start, then isn't it already the end?  Think about it...
