The sweetest sound of all.

We live in a time where many have forgotten the uniqueness of their design, the greatness of their individuality, and the perfection of their being here right now.  I've seen others and have been guilty myself of trying to be someone I was not. Today I want to inspire you to own your uniqueness, to hold on to your individuality, and to honor the perfection of your being alive at the right time.

If you want to truly be happy, then be happy with who you are.  If you want to experience all that life has to offer you, then grab hold of those things that define you.  It's not how others see you that makes the difference, it's how you see yourself.  Certainly there will be times when things don't always go as planned, but that should not define you.  There will be times when things turn out better then you could have ever hoped for: these are the moments that you need to hold on to and remind yourself that these things happened for a reason.

In my world, the sweetest sound of all is the sound of someone who says screw the establishment and let me do what I was sent here to do, in the manner that was meant to be, and with the knowledge that what is happening was intended to happen from the beginning of time.  Far too many people have allowed others to dictate what they do, and who they are.  When one succumbs to the conditioning of man there is never going to be a symphony of sweetness that comes from you.  You cannot adhere to the edicts of man and expect things to happen the way they were intended to happen.  If you are looking for others to design your existence then you have no one to blame but yourself when you are left wondering where all the joy and happiness have gone in your life.

If one believes in a Supreme Being, a God, Spirit, or Source, then you would also have to believe that you have a purpose for being here.  Now this purpose may take years to discover, but I assure you that your being here right now was intended to be, and there are things that only you can do.  The one thing that will bring you true happiness and joy is accepting your destiny, walking in your destiny, and more then anything owing it.  Everyone has a destiny.  Young, old, male, female, destiny is what you were put here for.  When we allow others to alter, divide, or ridicule our birth right, then you have given up the one thing that should be at the core of your being.  I've seen people walk away from the one thing that was meant for them, and I can tell you they are anything but joyful and happy.

When did it become unpopular to be the crazy, funny, often off-beat person you were created to be?  I see people who will admit that they have to fit the corporate mold, that they must do this thing in order to get that thing.  I've seen people spin around and completely be someone they're not, simply to take another step up the job ladder.  Let me ask you this:  is reaching the top of the career ladder so important that you are willing to give up on those things that you were placed here to do, and change who you fundamentally are, simply to take another step?  You may very well get to where you think you want to be, but I will tell you that it will only take a small amount of time to realize that what you gave up was far more valuable then what you may have gained by reaching the top.

We are in a day where the vast majority of people out in the work force hate what they are doing.  They remain where they are located because many are afraid to leave, and that fear is based largely on the conditioning of man.  There are bills to pay, tuition to consider, the list goes on and on.  What  a travesty to be imprisoned in an occupation that brings no joy, no happiness, but thank goodness it does pay the bills.  I've been there, and if I can help just one person get out of that trap, well then, I have done what I was created to do.

The you that was created was put here for a reason.  The personality you have was given to you for a reason.  The dreams and desires you have, you have for a reason.  If you want to make me happy begin with believing these things.  Why in god's name would you want to stick with doing something that in no way brings you contentment and peace, joy and happiness, or fulfillment and excitement?  The day is fast approaching where you are going to have to make a decision.  This decision is going to mean the difference between a life full of sweet sounds, or a life that knows nothing but regret, remorse, or rejection.  The real you, the unique you is just waiting to come on stage and show the rest of the world how it's done.  The real you is chomping at the bit to get out of the starting gate and show the rest of civilization just how grand life can be, if you let it.  My question to you is what are you waiting for?

The sweetest sound of all is when I see people who have taken their rightful place, are doing what they were created to do, and then sharing it with those around them.  This is music to my ears, and it makes me smile all day long.  Don't run from your destiny.  Don't allow man to dictate your actions.  Resist the temptation to do it because it's always been done that way.  Trust me, the individual in you needs to come out, it wants to come out, and the sooner that it does, the better off all of us will be.  Let your personal symphony play out, let others hear it, and watch as the notes of beauty, of peace, and of contentment fill the air for you and for everyone else.

I have learned many lessons.

I have learned tons of lessons in my life, not the least being that I can never change what has already happened, nor can I say what is going to take place tomorrow, so is there any real reason not to just live in the moment?

When you live for today you are saying that the past does not hold you captive and the future, well the future, is not going to scare you away.  We can always learn from the past, and we can always plan for the future, but when you take either of these to the extreme you are bound to have issues.

I know people who are so afraid of making the same mistake twice that they are frozen in time, unable to make any move forward.  Heck, we all mess up from time to time, we are human after all.  Why do so many people allow mistakes to define them, and why are there people out there who define others by their mistakes.  Doing both of these things are wrong, and quite frankly a huge waste of time.  Show me anyone who has never screwed something up and I will show you someone who has never tried to do anything.  I've had more screw ups in my life then I would like to admit, but truth be told, I have learned from each of them.  Learning to cope with mistakes is only going to mature you, so don't sweat the small stuff.

I was outside last night watching the Super Moon and Lunar Eclipse. I had never seen a full one, and realizing that the next one would not be around until I was 74 years old was motivation enough to sit around and watch it.  I was thinking about all the talk on Social Media about how this particular Moon was a prophetic sign, that it was going to signify the beginning of the end.  All the Doom and Gloomers must have been in hog heaven just waiting for things to happen.  Let me say that if you sit around just waiting for the other shoe to drop I will tell you that it will eventually happen, but when it does it is never going to be good.  Remember, we create our own reality by our thoughts, our words, and our feelings.  If you want to sit around all day worrying about what is going to happen in the future, by all means go ahead and do that.  Just don't come crying to me when life blows up and you're left with nothing but regret and a whole lot of "I told you so."

Now let me say something about the future:  you can have dreams and visions for the future. We all have them, and we should all be heading toward them.  What I want to caution you about is not to be so fixated on things ten or twenty years down the road that you don't do anything about the things intended for today, tomorrow or next week.  I have dreams and visions for True Destiny and scottekauffman.com, but that doesn't mean that I simply sit and wait for things to be in place.  I can do things right now to prepare for what is coming in the not too distant future, but what I can't do is allow my dreams to be derailed because of something that may have happened in the past, or that may or may not happen in the future.

I am having a business meeting tonight and we are getting together to build vision boards for what we intend for the future.  When you set the intention you are setting into place a wish list so to speak.  You are saying that this is what you desire, this is what you believe, and this is quite frankly what you expect.  If I can't see what I desire for the future, then there is no real need to be fixated on what is going to happen to you in the future.  Vision boards allow us to visualize what is in our hearts.  What is in our hearts is from our spirit, and we all know that our spirit is in direct communication with Spirit.

I indeed have learned many lessons in my short time on this planet.  While I can dream of things that are closest to me, I need to make my move today, in order to get to my tomorrows.  I have learned from things of the past, and I take those lessons with me.  Living with regrets from yesterday, or longing for things in the future without any activity today is just foolish.  Trust me, putting your efforts into what is right in front of you is the only way.

There is a quote I have used many times in my writing, and it is one that I learned almost 40 years ago as I was traveling from New York to my first Air Force Duty Station at RAF Mildenhall in the United Kingdom.  The quote came from the book The Power of Positive Thinking, by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale.  Peale said, "I would rather attempt something great and fail, then attempt nothing at all and succeed."  If all you do is think about things, then can you really expect anything to come of your dreams and visions.  Allowing past hurt, or past fear to dictate your lack of action, or cause you to be inactive, is simply defeating.  Once again, holding on to the past makes it impossible to step out into your tomorrows, and quite frankly makes one worried about their todays.

Grab hold of your today and simply do something.  If you want to write a book, then begin to write.  If you want to build something, draw it out.  Putting action to your dreams is what will take you to the next step, and then the next.  Before you know it you will be running with the things in your heart and your life will become full of such joy and happiness you will wonder why you wasted so much time in the past.  Get moving my friends and see what wonders await you.

All in a day's work.

So many people allow each day to run into the next, each one void of the one thing that would change a life, and change a life forever, passion.  So many people get up each morning just wishing that the day was already over and they could just be somewhere else, anywhere else besides the office building or job site, that has been sucking the life out of them.  So many people have fallen prey to the idea that "I owe, I owe, so off to work I go."  Is this the kind of existence you want?  Is this the type of day you experience, just wishing for a change?  If you are going through this then I have a bit of advice for you: stop the madness, throw out those thoughts that this is as good as it gets, and step out into a new world of destiny.

I have often thought that the only thing that stops people from achieving their dreams is not realizing that dreams have always been there to help you along the way to your destiny.  For those who have found themselves locked into a world of discontent you need to know there is a way of escape for you.  The only reason people stay cemented in careers they hate is because often they don't realize there is an alternative.  The fear of letting go of something that has ceased to serve you is frightening to you, and you have been conditioned to believe that you have no recourse.  I'm here to tell you that you do have options, and if you are brave enough to look at these options, put them into action, then your world as you have known it will change, and change for the better.

I have often said to friends that when you find yourself stuck in an occupation it is only a matter of time until you burn out.  If on the other hand your occupation is more of a vocation, well then my guess is that burn out will never be an issue, and instead of praying for Friday to come, you are looking forward to the next time you get to do what you love doing the most.  If I were a betting man I would say that the vast majority of the work force today falls on the side of being trapped into a profession that no longer serves them, the real them, and instead is simply acting as a means to an end.  Like the picture says, you are working to pay your bills, and if by chance you gain some type of joy out of it, it is marginal at best.

I want you for just a minute to picture a life free from stress, free from lack, and free from the tortures that you may have been experiencing for the last several years.  Can you even see the differences that would be all around you if you were able to shed the struggles of your current profession, and instead do something that really made you happy?  As far as I'm concerned, and I'm sure this flies in the face of what Corporate America says is expected, if you are not having fun at what you are doing, then maybe you shouldn't be doing it.  If you are not leaving your place of employment each day with sore cheeks because you have grinned so much, maybe it's time to find another place to work.  I Know people think I'm nuts for saying this, but they are the same people who are just praying that their office burnt down over the weekend so they don't have to go into work.

You are going to spend on average a third of your life, if not more, working.  How bad must one's life suck if they hate what they are doing?  I mean how bad must things get before you make the determination to seek alternatives?  I love what I do and I can't see myself doing anything else.  Trust me, I've had jobs that I hated, and I know how draining life can be when you are slave to something you hate.  If you find yourself chained to something you hate, don't you think it makes sense to simply cut away from it, and do something that is going to bring you joy, peace, happiness and a certain amount of contentment?  After all, when all the crying is over, you are the one who has to go through each day.

I firmly believe that "All in a day's work" should be "All in a day's fun".  I've told those individuals who work with me that if I'm not having fun, then I'm not doing it.  To some they will think that I am one of the dumbest people on the face of the planet.  They can think that as they grow old, as they drink away their sorrows, and as the find themselves in an early grave.  I really mean it when I say, if you're not having fun then you're not living.  Working in something that you have passion for is like winning the lottery.  Working in a field that you are passionate about is not only going to bring you joy, but believe it or not, prosperity will follow you and hunt you down.  I will bet you dimes to donuts, if you hate what you are doing, it is only a matter of time until you let the rest of what ails the world affect you.  On the opposite side of the coin, if you love what you are doing, it is almost impossible not to be blessed each day.  Those blessings will include prosperity, they will include joy and happiness, they will include contentment.

I guess the only thing you have to decide at this point in time is what are you going to do with this new insight?  You can continue to bury yourself in a job you hate, in which case things are never going to change, or you can say screw it, and simply follow your heart.  Passion is what makes living fun.  Passion is what moves people forward.  Passion is what we were created to have, created to be, and created of live with.  If you are not incorporating passion, your passion, into everything you are doing you are missing a golden opportunity to turn your life around.  Trust me, working in something that you have passion for can only help you.  Think about all this for a while and drop me a line.  If you still have doubts I will be more than happy to give you more ammunition.

Friendships, love em' or leave em', they all teach us something.

We've all had friendships; some are lasting, some are fleeting, and others are down right irritating and exhausting.  No matter where the road of friendship has taken you, you can bet that each person that has entered your life has been placed there for a very specific reason, and that there is something you are supposed to learn from them, or take away from the time you were fortunate enough to spend with them.

There is no doubt that friendships can be trying at times.  That being said, friendships are a two-way street, and as perfect as we would like to think we are, we do have our own flaws, and often we neglect to accept that fact.  The point of today's blog is to get you to appreciate all that you have in those that you call friends.

It's easy to take things for granted from time to time.  Most of us feel as though that we will have friends forever, and for the most part this is true. However, there are times, when no matter how many friends you have, we have feelings of loneliness and despair.  Friendships bring us what we need in life.  Some people have more friends then can be counted, while others keep a very short list of those who mean the most to them.  No matter how many friends you have, it's save to say that people who come into your life come in for a very specific reason, even if you don't realize it at first.

Why are friendships so important?  Well, in life, there is no denying that you can't do everything by yourself.  As good as one might be at whatever they are attempting to do, there comes a time when you are going to need the assistance of those around you. Who better to help then someone you trust, and not just a stranger off the street.  Friends bring comfort, they bring love, they bring understanding, and most of all, they bring themselves.  There is no need to be someone you're not when it comes to true friendship.  Being your authentic self is so easy when you are around those you love, that love you, and that accept you.  Even in your quirkiness, friends are there for you through thick and thin.

How do you want to be remembered when it comes to friendship?  The words that come to mind are loyal, loving, forgiving, and probably the most important, accepting.  I want people around me who accept me for who I am.  I want people around me who love me for me.  It's not what I have that is important, it is who I am.  True friends love you for you, just you.  There is nothing better then being able to drop the facades that many have worn in an effort to fit in.  True friends allow us to be who we are, all the good, sometimes the bad, but always just who we are.

Look back on those lasting friendships that you have.  What has been the main ingredient to these relationships?  What holds a friendship together is not surface stuff, they are held together by a never ending desire to be around them.  These people who bring a smile to your face simply by being in the same room with them.  They lighten up the mood, they shine light on almost any situation, and they bring a calmness that is so needed in the world today.  True friends provide us with a comfort that makes even the darkest day seem like something that can be overcome.

If you are fortunate enough to have close, loving friends, then make it a point today to reach out to them and let them know what they mean to you.  Even the most successful, well established people need to know they are appreciated for what they bring to others.  If you love them, tell them that.  If you appreciate them, tell them that.  If they know you better then you know yourself, then tell them that.  When you are able to share encouragement with others, you are encouraged.  When you are able to be thankful for others, you are more thankful.  When you are able to accept love from others, then you are more loving, and love is what makes the world go round.

I have friends who I would do anything for.  There is nothing that I would not do for my partner.  I don't do because I am forced to, I do because I love him.  He is my best friend, and I can't imagine my life without him in it.  Friends, no matter where they fall on the spectrum, are present in our life to make life more of what it is supposed to be like.  Imagine for a moment a life free from stress, free from worry, and free from those things that cause us pain and suffering.  A life free from all the negative is a life that is full of friends, loving, caring, devoted friends.

Yes we have had friends that have come and gone, but once again, if you are honest with yourself, you have learned something from everyone that has been in your life.  Take a few moments today to think back on all those who have crossed your path, and try to see the good that has come from each of them.  There will be times when friendships end, but how they end is not nearly as important as what you should have learned during the time these people were in your life.  I have had friends that have come and gone, and there are several that I would love to have back in my life.  The question I have to ask myself is this: am I willing to do what it takes to bring them back?  Sometimes the answer is yes, and sometimes the answer is no, but only you can make the decision.

Reach out to those who you love and let them know that you love them.  Friends need to know what they mean to you just as much as you need to know they are there for you when you need them.  Once again, friendship is a two-way street, and when you are able to give and take, then you have balanced out the equation.  I Love my friends, and I hope that I am able to show them that love each and every day.  Make a phone call today,  send a text, but let them know that you are thinking about them, and these thoughts bring a smile to your face.

Time to vent a bit...

OK, so I will start out by saying that today's blog is going to be a pretty tough one.  I give you that heads up in the event that you are not in a place where you can take cover.  Now this is not about you personally, but rather about those entities and other things around you, that for all intents and purposes are only there to make a buck.

I am all for profit, and I am all for making a very good and comfortable living.  I must get hundreds of emails a day from various individuals and companies pitching this, that, or the other thing.  I have grown very adept at reading the first sentence, or simply the title to the email to determine if it is something that will be read or simply sent off to the trash.  I am not opposed to people using social media or the Internet to promote their products or services.  I have a web page, and a presence on social media, after all you are reading this right now.  Here's where I have a bone to pick with some of these offerings.

I get emails that are solely focused on how to "Turn your income into six figures."  I love the ones who promise you wealth beyond imagination, and others that simply are pitching the flavor of the week.  However, the ones that really get my goat are the ones that some brainiac media expert says is the way to increase your business by sending out an email format like this one, or that one.  You know, those emails that try to pretend that the sender is personal friends with you, and then here comes the pitch for what ever it is they are trying to sell you.  Once again I am not against anyone trying to sell their products, but what I have yet to see is an email where the seller is more interested in the well being of the individual verses just selling you something.

You can try to make a millions dollars, you can do what all the experts say is the way to do something to generate all the income you want.  There are thousands upon thousands of ways to make money.  The one thing that always seems to be missing from these emails is anything about the individuals foundational truths: who they are, what they are, and why they are here in the first place.  You can make all the money in the world and unless you have a grasp of the significance of your being, you will eventually loose everything you have worked so hard to get, or worked so hard trying to get.

There was a time when I was down and out.  I didn't have two nickels to rub together.  I would get emails that offered services, and these services had some merit to them.  Problem was I didn't have any money to buy them.  It was an emotional roller coaster.  Excited about what this particular product or service could do for me and then bam, reality, I didn't have the money to even entertain such and such an idea.  All these types of marketing ploys are nothing more then putting the cart in front of the horse.  If you haven't figured out the greatness that you are, I assure you that no matter how great these opportunities look, no matter how much money they promise that you will bring in each and every month, no matter how successful they will make you, it will all be just a pipe dream.  Hey I believe in dreams, but I also believe that a foundation must be build if anything is ever going to survive the certain fire storms that is ultimately going to show up in people's lives at one time or another.

Here's my bottom line:  if you are looking for a six figure income to fix all your problems, let me save you the $19.99 plus shipping and handling, and tell you that this income will only come, when you have had a close encounter with the real you.  I see people who are spinning their wheels.  They appear to be running at warp speed, but it is only an illusion.  If you really want to put yourself in the right place at the right time, then you have to realize that you are already at the right place at the right time.  All the marketing gimmicks, the get-rich-quick schemes, the be better then the rest, is never going to get you to the place where you will experience real wealth.  This wealth is not measured by how much you make in a given year, or month, or even week.  I just love when I hear that someone is generating thousands of dollars each day and if you want to join this elite club then all you have to do is follow these simple rules.  Trust me, those who have made it generally began by getting to know who they were.  Any other thing that you do is simply going to be an act of futility.  Don't get me wrong, there are ways to achieve tremendous wealth, but all the tricks and marketing magic is not going to add one dollar to your name until you understand that wealth is already yours, and it's not yours simply because you followed a three or four step process.

I believe that prosperity and wealth are available to everyone.  I also believe that until such time as you know the real you that prosperity will be fleeting at best.  Imagine a life where whatever you touch prospers.  Imagine for a moment that every dream you have ever had is going to come true.  Imagine if you will a time when there is no worry, no fear, no doubt in your life.  Trust me, the only way you are ever going to get to these points in your life is when you begin to accept and believe that you are divine, and that you already have what you need.  You don't need a ten step process to generate tremendous wealth.  You don't need to follow this sells technique or sign-up for some super secret only $29.95 per month special to gain special access to this web site.  All you need to do is spend some time to learn who you really are, and then you will know what you are truly capable of.  By the way, there is zero cost to you to follow this blog, and that my friends should be some of the best news you have had all day.

Our Declaration of Independence.

"When in the course of human Events", words that framed our national heritage, and set this Nation's feet on a path toward greatness.  There are many who feel this country has lost its edge, that we are no longer the strongest, greatest nation on the planet.  Our Nation's Independence began over 200 years ago, and even to this day we are still evolving, still growing, and still learning.  To think that we have gotten everything perfect in such a short time would be idiotic.  It is in our imperfection that we continue to learn, continue to evolve, and continue to move forward.  The same can be said about each individual who walks the planet today.

Each of us are going to have to make our own Declaration of Independence some day.  If one is ever going to be truly free to pursue those things they know reside inside of them, then they are going to have to break free from the expectations of man, the conditioning of man, and the notion that this is what you must do and this is how you must do it.  "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."  Now either we believe these words or we don't.  Either we live these words, or we don't. Either we declare ourselves free from man's demands or we don't.

I spent years doing things that I thought others expected me to do.  I did things simply to gain the acceptance or the approval of others.  There are days when I wish I could have all that time back, but I also know that those times taught me some very valuable lessons, so I have lost nothing in the process.  I'm at a point in my life where I now control my actions, I control my desires, and I get to say that I have pursued happiness in all that I do.  The question that you are going to have ask yourself and ultimately answer for yourself is this: am I going to be the person I was intended to be?  You are the only one who can answer this question, and answer it you will have to do someday.

No matter how many years one lives, the key to happiness is living a life that you desire, and not a life that has been orchestrated or designed by someone else.  When we allow others to box us in, we have given away our inalienable rights.  When we fall prey to the conditioning of man we have said that our happiness is not important enough.  When we allow others to control our actions, then we have lost our own personal liberty.

It is time to make your own Declaration of Independence.  Many feel as though they are trapped by what other people say or think, this could not be further from the truth. As a Divine Spiritual Being you have within you the greatest beacon of hope there is, your spirit.  A spirit that is incapable of leading you astray, a spirit that knows nothing but hope, peace, love, and joy.  What would life be like if every individual was focused on and enjoying all the peace, love, joy, and hope that could be imagined?  There are so many people living in misery today, and that misery has made them feel trapped, fearful, and all together anything but independent.  I have seen the chaos created by man's conditioning.  I have seen smart, caring people fall victim to those who would rather invalidate one's dreams and visions verses accepting their own.  Why do people do this?  I get how maddening life can get at times, but the real travesty of living a life with out Independence is that you are giving up on what is really yours.

So you now have a decision to make.  You can continue to allow others to dictate your actions, tell you what you should think, what you should feel, or you can claim your independence and follow through with what is in your heart to do.  This country began because our founding fathers were tired of living under a tyrannical ruler.  How many people today are living under the tyranny of others?  This tyranny is nothing more then someone else thinking they know better then you.  When it comes to the things in your heart, no one, and I mean no one, knows better then you.  Your heart is so true, it is so pure, and it wants you to have everything it has for you.

When I declared my independence from the expectations and conditioning of man, I was truly free.  I was free to pursue those things that were dearest to me.  I was free to be the person I was always intended to be.  I began to experience true peace and joy.  I assure you this one thing:  independence will change your life, just as it changed the course of our nation.  Yes there will be growing pains, but after 200 years our country is still experiencing growing pains.  I guess the question I have for you today is what makes more sense:  staying where you are at right now, living under the expectations of others, or being free to be the real you?  Freedom does come with a price, but the price you would pay if you decide not to move forward in your independence is much greater.

Maybe it's time for you to pen your own declaration.  When you do, the tapestry of your life will change forever, and the future will be something that will be talked about in the history books 200 years from now.

I've figured out a few things....

Sometimes lessons come easy, sometimes they take forever, and then there are moments when you sit back and realize that you have in fact learned something new.

Many believe the saying that Knowledge is Power: the more you know the better you will be, or maybe better put, the more able you are to handle the things that may be thrown at you from time to time.

I have taken some time off these last few weeks just to sit back, relax a little, and otherwise clear my mind.  During this time away from the daily activities that I normally find myself doing, I've had the opportunity to figure a few things out.  I have taken time to re-read some of my favorite books, and I even took the time to read my own book.  Some might think it weird for an author to read what they have created, but reading it from cover to cover is so much different then writing it.  I found myself learning more, understanding more, and quite frankly figuring out a few things that had been alluding me.

Not all knowledge comes from books.  There are things we can learn from those around us, things we can learn by doing something new.  We learn in so many different ways, and that knowledge is what you are going to need to successfully walk in those things that were intended for you.  I have said many times that we will be learning lessons our entire life.  There is never going to be a time when we are not going to learn.  Life's lessons come to us in many ways, many forms, and often at times when we least expect them.  Lessons help us to grow, lessons help us mature, and lessons make us what we need to be.  Figuring out things is what life is all about, and when you are finally able to figure things out, then you are able to do those things that were meant for you from the beginning of time.

I was hosting a day long seminar over the weekend, and as much as I wanted things to be a certain way, there were things that did not pan out.  At first I was ready to cancel the event, but then I knew that walking away from it was not going to teach me what I needed to learn, and it would have been a mistake to allow my own pride or ego to get in the way of what Spirit wanted to accomplish during this event.  As it turns out, those who attended were very pleased and I figured out that what one does for one or two can have an effect on countless others down the road.

How many people do you think are waiting for answers to questions right now?  I know there are things that I desire to know, and if I am waiting for things, then I would have to think that others are also playing the waiting game as well.  Here is what I have learned over the years, and it is my hope that this little bit of information will help you along in your journey.  I understand that there are times when you want answers, when you need answers, and more often then not, you need them right away.  It seems that when we need something so bad, we often feel that we have been forgotten.  It's hard to sit back and be patient for things to arrive, when the perceived need is so great.  I've figured out, and maybe this has come to me because I have messed things up so bad in the past, but I've finally figured out that answers will come at the perfect time, and the sooner I take my conception of time out of the equation, the better off I am.  Things are going to come to you at the perfect time, but this is something we often over look, or don't want to accept.  Trust me, better to allow things to happen in divine order, then try to orchestrate something yourself because you feel pressure to do it now.

If you believe in divine providence, then you must also believe that things will come to you in divine order, and in that perfection of things you will then be able to sit back and relax knowing that there is nothing that you need to do.  Sometimes getting out of the way is the best option you have, and when you take this option, things magically seem to fall into place.  I have been guilty of trying to outrun things, or do them in my own timeline.  Had I been more aware of things I could have avoided many pitfalls, but lucky for me I did figure out somethings, and now I can wait for the right time, knowing that the right time will always show up at the right time.

Lessons are going to be learned in life no matter if you try to get away from them, run from them, or otherwise try to ignore them.  These lessons are there for one reason and one reason only, to get you to be the person the rest of the world needs you to be.  When you can accept that you are here for a purpose, and there are others who need what you have, then you will be able to wait for what you know will come to you when the time is right.  Sit back and relax and realize that in your perfection is the perfection of God's timing, and when you have and understand that, well things just seem to be a little less troublesome.  Take some time to relax and let those things that have to happen, happen.  In the long run, it will be the best time spent.

It's a labor of love.

Today's blog is twofold.  I want to talk about why everyone should be doing what they love, but more importantly why love should be the foundation of everything we do in life.

I know plenty of people who believe they are doing things that you might classify as "being in love with what they do".  However, the motivation for why they are doing it is anything but love.

Can we agree that life is far better when one is involved with things that they love to do?  If you are trapped in a job you hate, my guess is that loving life is not something you talk about on a daily basis.  That being said, I am always going to side with those who decide to step out and do what is in their heart to do and follow the passion that resides inside of them. The wonderful thing about following your passion, is that more often then not this passion is also laced with love, and that love is what you send along while you are doing whatever it is that you desire to do.  When I sit down to write my motivation is not how much money I can make.   My motivation is how many lives can I change, or how many lives can I help.

When you love what you do, it is almost impossible not to be motivated by love while you are doing it, and that love comes across to anyone you come in contact with.  If you spread enough love, then eventually others are going to walk in it, and then they do the same thing, and the cycle begins again. If on the other hand your motivation for doing something is not centered on love, but rather "what's in it for me", well you might be successful in your endeavors, but there will be an emptiness in you that can't be filled with money, success, or any other thing.

A labor of love is heading into your place of work, no matter what day of the week it might be, and knowing that you get the opportunity to do something that quite frankly you would do for free.  Now I am all for working hard and earning a great living, but when making money is the only focus you have I can assure you that eventually the thrill of making money will either wear off, or it will consume you.  If you are able to see past the money aspect and see just how important what you are doing is for those around you, I can promise you that money will never be the first thing on your mind, and because of that, money will never be an issue for you, as it will flow to you unabated.

If I were a betting man I would venture a guess that the vast majority of working people out there are either dissatisfied with their current job, or even more troublesome, absolutely hates what they are doing.  There is something to be said about loving your job, and when you love what you do it is so easy to give it your all.  Conversely, if you hate you station in life, I doubt very seriously that you are able to give it 100% of your efforts, and when that is the case, then apathy and regret is just around the corner waiting for you.

Each year on the 1st Monday of September our country celebrates those who work so tirelessly throughout the year.  I would love to have a day where we not only celebrate the workers, but the work we do.  A day to reflect on the blessings of being able to do what we love, and being able to do it for those around us.  Sadly many people just see this day as a day to relax and not have to go into their very mundane, burdensome, and often thankless jobs.

A Labor of Love is the most fulfilling, most joyful, and often the most peaceful existence one can know.  Getting up each morning knowing that you have the chance yet again to change lives is a calling we all have, and it's a calling we should all hold as dear.  I have said this so many times in the past but once again it bears repeating:  we were created by love, from love, and to love.  Often people do not realize this, and love is the last thing that they would use as motivation for what they are doing.  If love is the center of all that you do, then I guarantee you success in whatever endeavor you undertake.

If you do not love what you are doing, why are you doing it?  Life is to short to have it taken up with jobs that bring you no real peace or joy.  I have been trapped in thankless, loveless, and life draining jobs, and let me tell you, it will ultimately lead you to an early grave.   It's time to do what you were created to do, and if you were created to do it, then I will tell you that you will love every minute of it, and with that love you will cover the world with love as well.  Let this Labor Day be the day that you decide to follow your heart, follow your passion, and begin to change the world one person at a time, one day at a time.

All I want for Christmas is....

You have got to be kidding me, it's not even Labor Day and already we're talking about Christmas.  It's almost as bad as the political seasons that seem to run into each other, and we never get away from them.  I know that Christmas is still months away, and although the title to today's blog references it, what I want to discuss today are the things you desire in life, and why you don't have to wait for a specific day to get what you truly desire.

We all have desires and wants in life.  Some of these desires we are free to share with others in the hopes that they will share in the excitement and anticipation of what you are waiting for.  Other desires are best left unsaid, until such time as you are confident in their arrival, as there are those around who would like nothing more then to rain on your parade, and rob you of any joy in obtaining what you desire most.

I am hosting a full day event in a few weeks, and one of the primary topics is going to be laying foundational truths.  These truths are absolutely critical to have if one is ever going to have the desires of their heart; in light of the fact that so many people around you are just waiting to pounce on your wants and desires to crush them before they ever take wing.

I've taken the last few days to read my book If Tomorrow Never Comes from cover to cover.  Some people might think it weird for an author to have to read his or her own book, after all we did write it.  However, reading it, besides bringing me great joy, teaches me certain lessons and truths that we all need to be reminded about from time to time.  One of the main points of the book and a topic that many self-help/motivational authors talk about is if you can think it, dream it, feel it, and ultimately see it, then you can have it.  It is the Law of Attraction, the Law of Sowing and Reaping, and your destiny all wrapped up into one.  Another foundational truth that I bring out in the book is that we have been conditioned by man to believe one thing, while our creator continually tells us something else.  Man would love for you to believe that maybe if all the planets line up perfectly, if luck decides to shine on you for a limited time, and if you just happen to be at the right place at the right time, then and only then will your ship come in, and you will be able to have all that you desire in life.

I want you to know that you are worthy of having the desires of your heart, and I know this because the desire would never have been placed in there in the first place if the intention were to have you go without it.  The Creator of the Universe in not in the habit of dabbling a carrot in front of you knowing that you will never be able to get to it.  Man might have you believe that, but I assure you that Spirit/God/Source, what ever you want to name it, does not function that way.  I do however want to make this point: the desires you have inside of you are very rarely for just you alone.  They represent something that the rest of humanity can benefit from, so there is going to come a time when you are going to have to share these desires with others.  There are many people out there who want things and want them just for them.  There is zero chance that they will be willing to share anything with anyone, and that is such a travesty.  There is more then enough to go around, so sharing should be easy.  I will tell you that those who are unwilling to share what they have, their gifts and talents, their surplus, are under the illusion that there is a finite supply of it for them.  This limiting belief will ultimately cause them to loose what they have.

What is it that you want most in life?  What is the one thing that would bring you absolute joy?  If you had to write down your Christmas List, what would be at the top of that list?  If you are unable to come up with something, then my guess is that you have gone without for so long, that you have forgotten what would really make you happen, or you have been so beat down that you would just assume forget your wants and desires.  Let me encourage you to dust off your Christmas List and start looking at it again.

I've known the pain of going without, or forgetting what truly would make me happy.  I forgot about them because there was a time when I did not feel worthy to have them.  I needed to come to terms with my own Deity, my own perfection, and the truth that I am worthy of having the desires of my heart.  I encourage you to take a leap of faith and write down your list again.  The items on your list may be the same items you wrote about 10, 20, or maybe even 30 years ago.  That's OK, they are still desires, and if you still have those desires, then maybe it's time to realize that you need to go after them.

So what do you want for Christmas?   If you have an idea, smile about it.  If you have a feeling, go with it.  If you have an unction,  reflect on it.  Just don't make the mistake of continuing to bury it.  Trust me, if the desire is truly in you, then it will always come back around again to make you aware of it, and it will continue to come back until such time as you decide to do something with it.  Do yourself a favor and begin to do something with those desires.  Trust me, they are not just for you, there are others out there who need what you have.
