A new beginning. A new start.

Welcome back.  Yes it's been a long time, but so much has transpired since you and I were able to share a moment or two, but time is simply an illusion, so in reality we really haven't been gone that long, now have we?

I think there is a  point in everyone's life where we look for a new beginning, a new start.  Some people may think this is escaping, but I often feel the need to start something new, something fresh, if for no other reason then to shake things up a bit.  Too many people are afraid of change.  Many people are so set in their ways that doing something different just does not compute.  There are individuals who will do almost anything to keep the status quo. Don't rock the boat, don't make waves, and whatever you do, never ever volunteer to do anything.  I've been there, I've done that, and I'm sure that both you and I will do it again sometime in the future.  What I want you to look at today is something that is so easy, so non-threatening, that even a new born babe could do it.  I want you to forget about yesterday.   I want you to release yourself from self-imposed expectations, and allow yourself the opportunity to simply be free.  Freedom from other's words, actions, emotions.  I want you to be so free that you will never ever again run from your dreams.  I want you to be so free that you will never ever doubt that greatness resides in you and that the hope for tomorrow burns deep in your being.

If you could start something new, what would it be?  If you could have a do-over, what would it be?  If you had the ability to throw caution to the wind and simply do something you always wanted to try, what would it be?  You see, having a new start is not so much a do-over as it is giving yourself the opportunity to be who you are.  Having a new start is nothing more then allowing yourself to be your true self.  Having a new start is not acknowledging a failure, it is embracing an opportunity.  There are not many people that I know of that would look at opportunity and simply walk away from it.  Certainly there are times when we have missed opportunities.  It's all together possible that you may have missed an opportunity more then once, I know I have.  The key to any missed opportunity is to realize that it will come around again.  Destiny is destiny, and like it or not, you are going to have another opportunity at things in your life.  Many will ask how can this be, and my simple answer is this:  opportunity comes to all individuals.  You just have to be open to all possibilities and take advantage of them when they present themselves to you.

I said earlier that a new start is not an acknowledgement of failure, but rather an open door to bigger and better things.  I like new starts because I like to live in those bigger and better things.  I want my vision to be bigger.  I want those around me to have better in their life.  Bigger and better is not a bad thing, it's simply something that others have abused and misused.  Bigger and better in the wrong hands is nothing more then an ego builder.  Bigger and better in the hands of someone whose only desire is to be a better person, or to someone who wants to change the world for better is truly an honorable thing.

I like new starts, new beginnings.  Number one, it keeps me young, but equally important is the fact that new beginnings means I'm still moving forward and I haven't given up hope.  Yes there are people, we all now them, who have given up ever believing for something better to come along.  There are people who think they have given it all and for what?  They hate what they're doing for work.  They hate what they're doing in life.  They hate the fact that they never accomplished some of the dreams they had years ago.  If you are lapping to change things up, looking for a little excitement in what you are doing, or simply wanting to be free from your past, no is as good a moment as any to take a step and know that yesterday is gone forever and you might as well move ahead.  We can't change the past, and why in heavens name would you want to.  Yes things may have been less then stellar, but you still learned a lesson, and that my friends is OK in my book.

New beginnings, new starts are something that each of us should be open to, and in that openness, learn that having a chance at something new is worth more then all the money in the world.  If you want something new, then throw off something old.  If something is no longer serving you, get rid of it and accept something new in your life.  That something new might in fact change your life in such a way that you will never ever have to look back on things and play the wonder game.  I wonder this, I wonder that.  Face it, wondering about what is missing, or what is gone is never going to change the fact that something is gone forever.

Start something new and see if you are not better for it.  Help someone start something new and see if you're not better for it.  The chance to change things up in your life should charge you up.  If change is going to come, isn't it better if it's directed by you and not by someone else who hasn't a clue as to what really makes you tick.  Embrace change, embrace a new beginning, and embrace a new start, because life gets awfully interesting when you make a move.  Think about it and take a step, you won't regret it I assure you.
