As I sit here...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/19801909@N00/123120605
As I sit here today I am thinking about the hundreds of thousands of words that I have written in my life.  I am reflecting upon some of the millions of words I have shared with others.  As I sit here today I know that there is much more ahead of me, and the only thing stopping me from having those things I desire most is me.  I can dream, I can desire, and I can wish for things in my life.  I have come to a point in my life where I choose to think on those things that mean the most to me, and because I can think them, I'm also at a point where I know I can have them.

What I want you to do today is think about those things that mean the most to you.  Take some time to really zero in on the things you desire most, those things you dream about, those things that won't  stop rolling around in your head day in and day out.  These are the things that are meant for you, and these are the things that will ultimately show you your destiny.  What are you thinking about in this moment?  What one thing, if it were dropped in your lap right now, would change your life completely?  I dare say that most of you are thinking about something wonderful, and not something that is counter to who you are, what you want to do, and it certainly isn't something dreadful.  I know very few people who dream about calamity.  There may be people who always think about bad stuff happening to them, but the average person when they dream about something is dreaming about something that is beautiful and exciting.

I have been put through a lot in my life time.  I have seen society change, and I have seen it take a few steps back from time to time.  I have sat and wondered what my life would look like, and I will tell you that I am very happy where I am at right now.  I can't tell you that everything is perfect, but then again I certainly know that I am blessed to be able to do the things I do.  I love to write, and each time I sit down at my computer I am find myself in my happy place.  Where is your happy place?  What are those things that bring you joy?  If you are not experiencing joy right now, how long are you going to continue doing what you are doing before you make the commitment to change things up?  I see people each day and I often wonder what their life is like and if they are experiencing the joy that is available to everyone.  I look at people and often scratch my head when they make statements about their plot in life and how they would give anything to get out of the situation they are in.  I have learned over the years that people will only change when their current circumstances become so uncomfortable that they are forced to change.  Even then, there are people who will fight change with every once of fiber in their body.  If you find yourself unhappy in your current situation then maybe it's time to sit back and simply think about some of the things you would like to do in life but haven't yet done them.  I don't care how old you are, how experienced you might be, or even if you have failed a zillion times before, there is nothing that can stop you from obtaining your dreams if you really desire them.

When I first started writing about destiny I never thought it would have taken center stage in my life.  I will tell you that not an hour goes by that I don't think about destiny or simply talk to someone about destiny.  If you had asked me 15 years ago what I would be doing right now, I don't think destiny would have ever come up in the conversation.  That being said, when I look back on all the things I have done in my life, all the things I have experienced and all the things that may have happened to me, it was perfectly orchestrated to bring me to the place I am at right now.  Instead of looking at your past and trying to figure out why things happened, why not accept the fact that things happen for a reason and sooner or later you are going to put all the pieces of the puzzle together and you will know the reason for each and every event that ever took place, good, bad, or indifferent.

As I sit here today I am awe struck at the perfection of the Universe, and I am so thankful that I am a part of it.  We each have a power, we each have gifts and talents, and that power, those gifts and talents have not been wasted on you.  You may not be walking in your power yet, but that doesn't mean you don't have it.  If you want to experience power, then begin by accepting who and what you are.  Sadly most people today see themselves as simple mortals.  Truth be told you are so much more then that, but I can't make you see that, you have to know it, live it, and experience it.

As I sit here today my biggest wish is that each person would come to understand the brilliance of their creation.  As I sit here today my desire, my dream, is that destiny would be something that everyone thinks about, that everyone goes after, and that everyone accepts without question.  Can this happen?  I say yes.  What say you?

Sit back today and ponder this question:  if you could be doing anything right now, what would it be? It doesn't matter if what you want to do makes sense to anyone else.  It doesn't matter if the rest of the world thinks you're crazy for wanting to do something out of the norm.  What matters is that you are going after the things that mean the most to you.  I know what life is like when you are constantly desiring something and yet that something seems like a million light years away.  I know there are times when things seem impossible, but impossible is only a mind trick.  If you have a dream, I promise you that it is possible.  Take some time today to think about those things you desire most.  Don't bury them, embrace them, for they are you, and you are them.  Once you begin to accept this special gift, your life will change in ways to grand to even express in ordinary words.  I want you to say, "AS I SIT HERE....", and then see where life takes you.  It will be a journey of discovery, this I promise you.

What happens when all we get is mixed messages?

http://www.flickr.com/photos/11223807@N04/23509247030
Life is full of mixed messages.  We often think one thing, and then something completely different comes about.  We often have the best of intentions and then something goes bonkers and those things we thought were sure bets have just become long shots, and there isn't a chance in hell of getting what you actually want.  We've been told to hold on just a little bit longer, that things will turn around, and then, from out of nowhere comes calamity.  If you're like me, then you've had these moments.  The key to troubling moments is to remember that they are just that, moments.  They do not define you, they do not control, and they will leave you as fast as they approached you.

There will be times when we receive mixed messages.  Our mind tells us one thing, while our heart is saying something else.  Your mind can often be the biggest culprit when it comes to things that get in your way.  Our mind does not always provide us the things we want, nor does it give us a clear picture of what to expect, or what to do next.  Now the heart, that's another thing all together.  The heart will never lead you astray, it will never lie to you, and it will always, always lead you on the right path.  Problems arise when we give more credence to our mind then to our heart.  The mind and heart is the quint essential mixed message maker.  I'm not saying that your mind is always going to be wrong, but when put into a position where the heart and mind are at odds with each other I am telling you to follow your heart.

I've been in so many situations in my life where if I had just listened to my heart and not my mind I would have been much better off.  Our mind is controlled by things we have experienced, by those around us who like to tell us what to do, and by feelings, that just might be wrong feelings.  The heart on the other hand is in direct communication with the Creator of the Universe, and because of this is able to receive messages and thoughts that are pure, powerful, and oh so important.

When was the last time your mind and heart were at odds with each other?  Did you follow your heart or did you do what most people do and follow your minds direction?  Certainly the mind is capable of making good sound decisions.  Our daily life is predicated upon listening to our mind, and doing what it says to do the majority of time.  What I'm talking about here is when you find yourself in a situation where you just aren't sure what to do next.  Your mind might be cluttered with all kinds of stuff put there by well intentioned people, but people who really don't understand what is at your core.  We often make snap decisions because someone somewhere expects the decision right away.  Your mind tells you to go ahead and make the decision, while your heart is telling you to take it a little bit slower, and maybe look at things a different way.  So now what do you do?  You can already feel the conflict because time is a wasting, and you do not want to disappoint anyone, let alone someone who is your superior.  So what do most people do, they make that snap decision based on what their mind is telling them to do, and they hope for the best.  This is the exact kind of mixed message that is going to mess things up.

One of the greatest areas of one's life that causes mixed messages is that of love.  We don't always understand why we love a certain person, but how many times has your mind told you one thing and your heart is telling you another?  I will tell you if you want conflict then just look at love and see what your mind tells you verses your heart.  There are times when both the mind and heart are on the same page in regards to love, but that is a rarity, and more often then not you are not going to have the option of not having to pick one over the other.

Let me ask you this:  can you remember a time when you followed your heart and it lead you astray? Conversely, can you remember a time when you only followed what your mind told you and you ended up in a mine field?  It won't take too many occurrences of the latter to get you to see the importance of following your heart, thereby stopping mixed messages.  I get how confusing following your heart can be at times especially when what you heart is telling you is so far from what others are telling you.  I get how frustrating it can be to wonder if you are doing the right thing, especially when the right thing is counter to the way others are doing things.  It's not always easy to follow your heart, but I will tell you that in the end, it will be a whole lot better for you if you will learn to do it.

Mixed messages are going to be around you your entire life.  But just like you learned to walk, ride a bike, drive a car, you can learn to listen to, and follow what you heart is telling you to do. In the long run you will be better off, and better off is always the way to go.

There comes a time when all you can do is surrender.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/75153837@N00/5072625470
Most of us have been in situations where we have wanted to give up.  This giving up can be based on never getting to the place you desire.  It can come from past failures or feelings that you will never succeed.  It can even come from a simple "I'm just tired of all the crap."  No matter where you are on the scale of either doing something, or trying to do something, there will come a time when you will have to decide what to do next.  Do you walk away from something, or do you stick it out?  Do you give it that once and final college effort, or do you simply turn away never to look at it again?

I think there comes a time when we will all be faced with surrendering, but the surrendering I'm talking about is not the surrendering that many people think of.  Most people when they think of surrender are picturing the white flag, waving that white flag, and hoping against hope that their captures will be gracious to the point of mercy.  What I would like you to look at today is a different approach to surrender.  I want you to embrace surrender, not as a failure, but rather as an opportunity to allow the universe to do what the universe has wanted to do from the very beginning of time, that being provide you all that you need,  and providing it when you need it.

Surrendering to the Universe is nothing more then accepting the perfection of the universe, the perfection of your own being, and that what has to happen will happen.  Surrendering to the universe is taking control out of your hands and placing it where it has always belonged.  Trust me there are people out there who would rather cut off their own arm rather then relinquish control of anything.  Those who are unwilling to let go, will ultimately discover that letting go is the only option they have left, and this often comes after much pain and suffering.

When we surrender to the Universe we are acknowledging that we are part of a bigger life force, and this life force is what will enable you to achieve all of your dreams, and all of your visions.  So many people have been taught that if something is going to get done, then it is going to have to be done by them.  To a degree this is correct, but what happens when what you have been trying just isn't working?  What happens when failure comes time and time again, and you are just about to give up on all of your dreams because quite frankly you are sick and tired of being kicked in the ass and coming up short?  When you are in this situation you have two choices:  you can either just quit and move on to something else, in essence surrendering to the total destructive force of failure.  Or, you can surrender to the universe, step out of the way, and let perfection happen.  We have made surrender a bad word, because we have been looking at it all wrong.  The way people have looked at it is based on man's conception of failure and success.  It is based on a set of standards, a measure of this or that.  Surrender in its truest sense is realizing that things happen, and they happen for a reason, but your perfection is not based on any outcome, it is solely based on you being you.

I have faced many a defeat in my life.  I have failed more then once, but I am still here and I am still doing what I am supposed to be doing.  Just because you face issues doesn't make you a failure.  That being said, when you surrender to the universe it is not something that is subservient, it is something that is totally the right thing to do.  The Universe is the sum total of her parts.  The Universe is not just the planets and galaxies that are spinning around at light speed.  The Universe is part of you, and you are part of it.  Just as you will never separate yourself from your parents, you will never separate yourself from the rest of the Universe.  Hell, why anyone would want to separate themselves from the universe is beyond me, but I digress.  Surrendering to the universe is probably the smartest thing you will ever do, and that goes for those who feel they are the smartest people in the world.  Trust me, the Universe is going to get what the Universe wants, with or without your help and cooperation.  My advise is that you begin to cooperate with the rest of the Universe and decide that you are going to go along for the ride.

I know people who are facing serious struggles at the moment, and I also know that I don't have it within myself the ability to help them get past these struggles.  I do know however that as a member of the Universal family of the Universe that I can stand up for these people and speak into any situation, and I can expect things to happen for the betterment of all.  If you are facing a struggle, if you are facing an impossible situation, then might I suggest that you tap into the universal forces that are out there and allow the universe to do what the universe does best.

There will come a time when all of us will have to decide will we surrender to the ways of the world, or will we joyfully surrender to the ways of the universe?  As much as we would like to believe that we can do it all by ourselves, you will eventually learn that you can't and in fact that you never have.  All you have ever completed was because of your place in the universe.  I know this might come as a shock to many people, but it's the truth.  All that you have, all that you are, and all that you will ever become is due in it's entirety to your place in the universe.  If you are looking for answers then maybe it's time you accept certain truths.  Maybe it's time that you take your rightful place.  Maybe it's time to surrender to the universe and in doing so put yourself on the right path.  This path will eventually take you to the place you most desire, doing the things you dream about, and being the person you so separately desire to be.  Think about it for a while and then do yourself a favor and just let go.  Trust me, it will change your life forever.

I am the master of my domain.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/15745225@N00/11237269854
I once thought that I was destined to live the life that everyone else wanted me to live.  I had put everyone else first before me, because that was what I had become.  As I reflect back on the last few months of solitude I came to the realization that my reality, my life, my well being was in direct correlation to me having the understanding and belief,  that I am indeed the master of my domain.  It's easy to say these words, but what doesn't always come easy is believing these words.  One can say just about anything, but do you really believe what you are saying, and are you putting your words into action?

What I want you to see today is that being the master of your domain is quite simple because your domain doesn't belong to anyone else.  I've said this a million times, only you can accomplish what you were sent here to accomplish.  OK, maybe I haven't said it a million times, but you can rest assured I have at least thought it, and probably said it more then once.  There isn't much that scares the Mighty Lion.  He is majestic, he is powerful, and he can pretty much come and go as he pleases.  I can relate to the lion as that is my birth zodiac sign, Leo.  I have read more books on Leo's then I would care to admit, but each book gave me a closer look at the nature of this magnificent animal.

How many people do you know, or at least know about, who have been able to dominate their own life?  When I say dominate I mean take control, not be moved by the words of others who always seem to think they are right and you are wrong?  How many people do you know who have just said screw the establishment I'm going to do it my way?  Sadly we live in times where we are required to march in lock step with everyone else, and if you are the one who rocks the boat then you will be the one who is set adrift in the open sea as a punishment for your free thinking.  Yea, our society has done a pretty good job of boxing people into places they were never intended to be, all in the name of normalcy.  Well I'm here to tell you that this place you have been forced into is not the place you belong and it certainly is not your domain.  I think it's time that you saw this and said "Oh Hell NO."

Our society has set limits.  It tries to tell everyone what can be done, what should be done, and who should do it.  I've seen very talented people thrown out onto the garbage heap simply because they dared to stand up for what they believed in.  I've seen careers ruined simply because someone had the nerve to question how something was done, and why in God's name are we still doing things the old fashioned way.  I'm telling you that the sooner you break free from the bonds of those around you, the sooner you will discover your own domain, and the sooner you will be able to walk in your destiny.   Now if walking in your destiny, if doing what you were sent here to do is not something you really want to think or talk about, OK, just let it go.  But if you are fed up with always being told no, always being sat on, always being the one who has dreams but you are to tore up from past bad experiences to share those dreams with anyone, then let me say you are in a very good place because it's time to experience dominance in a very powerful way.

Being the master of your domain does not give you the right to lord over people.  There are plenty of people out in the world who try to dominate because they have this feel of superiority.  Well these people need to have the crap beaten out of them.  They are no more important then you, and the sooner you see your worth, the sooner you can take your rightful place.  We are all connected, one to each other, and we all have a part to play in our world.  There is no one, and I mean no one who is more important then anyone else.  I don't care if your bathroom is lined with solid gold faucets, nor do I care if you haven't two nickels to rub together.  You were divinely created and put here on this earth to do something.

It's time to recognize your gifting and it's time you stepped out into those things that you have been uniquely called to do.  I let other people around me rule over me, and the only thing that did to me was make me feel even less alive.  Joy, peace, and ultimate happiness is not something to be looked upon from a distance, it is what you should be experiencing every day of your life.  When you finally become the master of your domain, you will begin to experience joy, peace and happiness in a measure that you only once dreamt about.  I know what it's like to walk around with your head held down, afraid of failing again, and even wondering if you will ever get the opportunity to do what you love to do.  I know how empty life can be when you are simply mulling over each day never expecting things to change.  It's time you allowed yourself to be yourself and not just what others have allowed you to be up to this moment.

I am the master of my domain and I relish every minute of my existence.  I am the master of my domain and I willfully take my rightful place.  I am the master of my domain and I hold true to those things in my heart that I now know are there for a reason.  Your tomorrows will change once you allow your dominance to take center stage.  You no longer have to fear who and what you are.  You no longer have to hold your head in shame because you may be just a little different then everyone else.  Your differences are what make you who you are, and who you are is what the rest of the world needs to see.  Take your place my dear lion and lioness, and know that all goodness will follow you when you accept your greatness.  Let me hear your roar, and let's begin to walk in our own majesty.

Here's to New Beginnings!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/60141638@N06/9129283229
It has been a terrific summer and as we move closer to the first day of autumn I thought it only appropriate to end my summer hiatus and get back to what I do best, writing and of course inspiring others to reach for the stars.

Every year I take a few months off from writing just to center myself and prepare myself for what is sure to be an exciting time, full of opportunity, and new beginnings.  This summer was no different and I was able to learn some very important lessons, lessons that will now guide me over the next several months.

Today I want to share some of the lessons that I was able to pick up on, and I share them because they just might speak to what many others have been going through or feeling.  I'm a firm believer that each day we live is a new beginning, a new start.  Certainly we may do the same thing day after day, after day, but that's only because we often find ourselves in a rut.  This rut is simply a mind trap.  It isn't real, and it certainly isn't something you have to stay in.  The marvelous thing about life is that you control the outcome.  You are the master of your own ship, and you, and only you, have the ability to steer this ship wherever you desire to go.  If you have decided to forego your dreams, to let go of your visions, then you have failed to understand the beauty of new beginnings.  I know what it's like to take a knee to the nuts.  I've been sat on.  I've had my dreams shattered by others who didn't understand me, and I've been told a thousand times why what I wanted to do couldn't be done, and I was just dreaming.  Well they were right on, I was dreaming, but as I've said so many times in the past, dreams are stepping stones to your destiny, and your destiny is what new starts and beginnings are all about.

This summer I learned that dreams can never die.  Try as you might to bury them, ignore them, or even run from them, when you turn that corner you will come face to face with them.  It is in this moment that you will have to decide:  do I continue to run, or do I simply give in and accept that this is what I'm supposed to be doing?  I really should have ended my vacation a month ago, but there was something there that was stopping me, and that something was fear.  I was afraid that I had lost my ability to write.  I wasn't quite sure why I was feeling this way, but the thought of getting back on the computer was frightening.  I had let my emotions get the better of me, and for quite a while those emotions were governing many aspects of my life.  Face it, we are all emotional people, but there are times when we let our emotions get the better of us, and when that happens it can only spell ruin.

New beginnings are simply reminders that there is still something that needs to be accomplished.  New beginnings are also your cue to pick up where you left off, even if you felt that where you left off was the end of something.  I can think back to when I stopped writing for the summer.  It was right before the Memorial Day Holiday weekend, and I was writing a blog that I only had about half of it completed.  It just wasn't flowing, and I knew it was time for a break.  I've been writing this blog for almost five years, and even though it is something I truly love doing, I also knew that I needed to take a step back and just let time do what time does.  Little did I know that what I learned this summer was going to prepare me for what lies ahead.  I learned that dreams never die, that time is once again just an illusion and that I was deserving of goodness just as much as the next person.  What I had forgotten to do over the last few years was take time for myself, and realize that I needed to be refreshed and I needed to be babied for a while.  One can only give for so long without taking back before you become empty, and when you are empty you're really no good to anyone.

If you are looking for a fresh start, then you needn't look any further than the day that is right in front of you.  True dreams and visions never die.  They may grow, they may even take a rest, but I assure you that your dreams and visions are never going to leave you because they are a part of you and you are a part of them.  When I look at all the things that I want to do in my life I'm always taken back to one simple thing:  how do I get others to discover the destiny that resides in them, and how can I be a help to those who are in need of a little kick in the pants?

So here's to new beginnings, and here's to you stepping out and accepting that what you want, what you dream of, and what you hope for is all just waiting for you.  I've learned that no matter what the rest of the world is throwing at you, I am still the only one that can do what I was sent here to do.  It's pretty amazing when you think about it that you are so unique, that you are so special, that you are the only one who can do what you can do, and no one will ever do it better then you can do it.

Today is a day of new beginnings, and today is your day to embrace who you are, what you are, and why you are here in the first place.  I could have taken the last three months off and completely changed the direction of my calling.  I could have decided to write about current events, the state of the country, or the world for that matter.  I could have put my political hat back on and begun to opine about the current election, but that wouldn't be who I am.  Oh I certainly have thoughts on this election, but they are nothing compared to the thoughts I have about each of you and the importance that each of you have to the rest of the universe.  So I will continue to write about destiny.  I will continue to share thoughts and ideas that will help you out along the way, and I will continue to hold true my dreams and visions for the future, for the future is here right now.

Decisions, decisions, decisions...what move to make?

http://www.flickr.com/photos/69065182@N00/9711274502
Oh the quandaries we find ourselves in from time to time.  Often we've dug the hole so deep we can't figure out how to get out and then frustration sets in and you wonder if it's really worth getting out of.  I can't think of a time in life when we aren't going to be faced with making decisions.  Some will be simple, some complex, and others will be down right mind boggling.  There are those who run from making the difficult decisions and others who thrive on the moment and often fabricate situations that warrant a decision.  No matter where you fall on the spectrum, you are going to make a zillion decisions in your life time, wouldn't it be nice to always have the feeling that you are in control of the decisions you make?

There have been so many times in my life when I have run away from making the difficult decisions. It wasn't that I couldn't make them, more often than not it was because I didn't want to make them.  I knew what I had to do, problem was I didn't really want to do the one thing that would have solved all my problems.  Now I know I'm not the only person who has been in this position, and so today I want to encourage you to take the big step and do what needs to be done.

What stops people from making a decision?  In my opinion, I would have to say that fear is what stops most people.  Fear of what might happen.  Fear of what you might be leaving behind.  Fear of what you might be missing out on.  The list of those things we fear when it comes to making a decision is a mile long.  However, allowing fear to dictate your actions, or lack of action, is one of the worst things you can do.  We as humans have a tendency to make things worse then they are.  We come up with all kinds of scenarios and when it's all said and done most of these scenarios never play out.  We often ponder a decision, often taking years and years, and then we kick ourself in the ass when everything works out and we wonder why we wasted all that time with worry and fear.

So how long are you going to put off making a decision?  You see, making a decision to make a decision is often the hardest thing you might do, but doing nothing is never going to change the situation you might be facing.  I get how hard it can be to pull the trigger.  I completely understand that we often put off making decisions because of how it might affect others, or worse yet how it might affect us.  The bottom line is that until such time as you move forward, what ever situation you may be facing is only going to get worse.  Slowly but surely you will spiral out of control and then what you were originally facing is going to be a hundred times worse.  I'm not trying to prophesy doom and gloom.  What I'm trying to do is encourage you to do what is right for you, and move ahead in those things that are going to serve you best.

When it comes to making a decision the one thing that should be front and center is what will it mean to you.  If you do not put your best interest ahead of all other things, then you are going to be making the biggest mistake of your life.  Putting yourself first is not selfishness.  Putting yourself first is allowing you to be the person you were always intended to be, and anything less then being your authentic self is going to rob the world of a huge gift.  As much as you might want to help the world, you can't be all things to all people until you are all things to yourself.  If you are not whole and complete then how can you give to others what they need?  There are people who make the decision to do for themselves, but their motive is anything but pure.  Their desire to have it all is not because they can do good with what they have, but to feel superior to the rest of mankind.  Being in a place of knowing who you are is a healthy place.  Knowing your true purpose is a healthy place.  All decisions you make should be focused on knowing the real you.  When you decide to get to know the real you then and only then can you affect the change that this world is in need of.

I'm not sure what you might be facing today, but I do know, as Mr. Rohn says, "You cannot make progress without making decisions."  Yes the outcome right now might be unknown to you.  The ramifications of whatever decision you make might seem scary, but know this:  there is nothing that you do right or wrong that can't be looked at again and fixed if need be.  I've made some huge mistakes in my life, but I'm still here right now, and I'm still doing what I love most in life.  It would be great if we never had to face making a difficult decision, but each of us have been there before now and will be there again someday.  Right or wrong, good or bad, it matters not.  What matters is that you stood courageously and did what had to be done.

Yes decisions can be scary, but not nearly as scary as what will come about if you fail to make a decision that needs to be made.  Fear is never the right motivator when it comes to making decisions, so take fear out of the picture.  Know that all things work together in the Universe to get you to the point you need to be at.  You can always change a decision made, what you can't change is what happens when you refuse to make a decision, big or small.  Rest in the knowledge that all good will come from a decision you make, when that decision is made from a good place, and that place is always your heart.  Think about it...

There was a time.....

There was a time when life was everything it was supposed to be: fun, full of laughter, care free, and a future that looked so promising.  There was a time when all you could think about was what adventure was going to take place today, and how were you going to be a part of it.  There was also a time when dreams seemed real, where all you had to do was imagine things, and things were.  What ever happened to those times?  When did they disappear, and why is it you lost them in the first place?

When you were a child it seemed like all things were possible.  You hadn't yet been conditioned by society to think a particular way, or do things another way.  When you were just a small child you never gave much thought to where your next meal was going to come from.  You always seemed to have new clothes, a warm bed to sleep in, and the occasional special surprise gift just because you were you.  If life was so great as a child, why in the world have most adults left their childhood at the doorstep?  Why if life was so simple back then have so many adults departed from what made life so almost perfect?  We've been told it's time to grow up.  We've been instructed to put away childish things and act our age.  We've even been told that there's nothing worse then someone who refuses to grow up.  Well, I'm not so sure that we did ourselves any favors by throwing out the child in us, and I'm certain that there is a part of everyone who somehow would love to rekindle those times when life was simple, joyful, and free from most of the concerns that people carry around with them today.

When was the last time you were truly carefree?  When was the last time you looked at each day as a blessing and as an opportunity to try something new, experience something new?  When was the last time you simply threw other's expectations out the window and made the decision to do things your own way?  If you are like most people the answer to each of these questions is " it was a long, long, long time ago."  Maybe it's time we turn things around and treat life as if we were children again.  Face it, if you knew then what you know now, your life would be completely different.  Looking at it another way, if you could see life right now as you did when you were a child, how different would life be for you right now?

There's really nothing worse in life then always thinking about, or going back to another time.  A time when life was as it should be and maybe not as it is right now.  How great would it be right now if all you had to do was think about each day as a new adventure and how much fun it was going to be on that adventure?  I dare say that there would be very few people who given the opportunity to turn things around would choose to stay stuck in the life they have at this moment.  I want to enjoy every minute of my life.  I want to look at each day as that new adventure.  I never want to have to go back to a time when all I could do was what was expected of me.  If I can't be me, then what's the point of going forward, and trust me if you are not free to be the unique you, then there is very little chance of you truly moving forward.

Children have the ability to look at things and see the truth, to see the joy, and the reason this is so is because they haven't been jaded by others.  Sadly there will come a time when they will fall victim to the conditioning that all of us have been subjected to, but how great would it be if each of us was able to void ourselves of what others have demanded and simply be who and what we were created to be? Just think about it, a life free from expectations, free from judgments, and free from the constraints that we have found ourselves operating in.

So allow me to go back to the carefree question.  If you have to think about the answer, if it takes you longer then just a few seconds, then I can pretty well bet that it has been some time since you were carefree.  Carefree means just that, free from care.  Free from the burdens of life, or at least those things that have been a burden to you.  Being carefree means you look at tomorrow with hope, you treat today as an adventure, and you simply look at yesterday as a lesson that needed to be learned.  It's so easy to get wrapped up in the worry of today.  It's not hard to forget about your tomorrows because you are focused on too many yesterdays.   Today I'm going to recommend that you forget about putting on your big boy pants, your big girl panties, and simply live like a child.  If you can see the excitement of doing the little things, then those little things will turn into bigger things, and then the excitement will grow and grow, and then grow some more.

What I would love for you to do is to begin saying there was a time when you allowed the true you to be stifled, but that is no longer the case, and from this day forward I am going to see things as I used to see them.  You see, there was a time when life was perfect, and the time is right to pick up that perfection again, and walk into a new life that is as childlike as childlike can be.  The child is still very much in you, what you forgot to do was let it out.  Well it's time to come out and play again, and when you do, you just may see life a little differently, and you may begin to see life the only way it was ever intended to be seen, through the eyes of a child.
