True Destiny, If life is a Journey why go it alone?

Well it's a rainy day here in Maine. It appears that summer may have shown itself for the last time this past weekend, and with fall fully on us it is only a matter of time before we hunker down and experience a good old Maine Winter. For those who have never experienced this type of weather I invite you to come up for a visit. For those of you who are out in a warm winter climate I beg you to invite me for a long long visit. As I advance in years I can appreciate a nice Arizona or Southern California Winter.
As I sit down this morning to write for only the second time in many many months, I have had to reflect on many different things. As a matter of fact I took the opportunity to read over some previous entries. I must admit that some are very very good, and some I can really tell when I was having a challenging day. Over the last few months I have had to come to some difficult decisions, some I wanted to make while others were forced upon me. Don't you know, we never like it when decisions are thrust upon us. Most people run from them like rats from a sinking ship. But no matter how you look at it, decision are a fact of life, and like it or not, we have to make them. Now there wasn't any one decision that sticks out as being overly complicated, nor overly easy. Decisions on what to wear to the office are fairly routine, although I do have my days when nothing seems to fit, and a burlap bag would suit me just fine. Other decisions haven't been as simple, but decisions that had to be made, if for no other reason for my own sanity.
We are all faced with decisions on a daily basis. I was talking with a very close friend, you can tell that I do that a lot as I make mention of it often. During our conversation we were talking about the general climate of the country. When I say climate I am not talking about the weather pattern or whether Global Warming is really something we should concern ourselves with. When I talk about climate I am talking about the general feeling of the country and each of us as part of that big country. I am under the impression that there are so many people walking around this country in total distress and hopelessness. Now let me say this; I am not talking about the political climate. I really don't care what your political affiliation is. I don't care what side of the isle you are on, nor do I care about your political views. Hold on, Side Bar, I guess I do care about some of your political views but I will save that for another time. What I see in my daily life is people walking around with what appears to be doom and gloom surrounding them. Many people have no idea when things will turn around for them. Many have gotten to the point where they are wondering if life is really worth living. Many have given up because moving forward is just so damn difficult right now. Wherever you fall on this line of misery and dread, all I can say to you is keep moving. Keep moving and eventually you will get around the brick walls, barriers, and bumps in the road.
No one ever said life was easy, far from it. But we have resources that are more powerful, helpful, and inspiring then we could ever wish for. Those resources are friends and loved ones. When in doubt reach out to those who truly know what is inside of you and are willing to help pull it out of you. Now keep this in mind, there are times when tough love is called for. If you find yourself on the receiving end of this tough love, just count your blessings and thank God you have someone in your life who cares enough about you to do the right thing. Albeit it is never fun being on the receiving end of tough love. In fact, in most cases, it down right pisses one off. But after all the dust settles we can see the goodness in this action and long after the dust settles we can say our thank-you's.
As I move forward with this blog again it is my hope that you gain some understanding as to the complexity of life, the pit falls to avoid, and the understanding that coping with daily issues is something we all have to do. It is my desire to share my views, thoughts, and beliefs, in an effort to make your decisions much easier, and far less traumatic. I have said this so many times before, but if Life is a journey, why go it alone. There is power in numbers, and when you and I team up there really isn't anything we can't accomplish. Search your hearts and know that those dreams that reside inside of you need to come out. Dreams are not just for us. They may also be there to help others achieve their destiny.

True Destiny; If Life is a Journey, Why go it alone?

To those who thought I had fallen off the face of the earth, well let's just say the the stories of my departure have been greatly over stated. Truth be told I have had such a hectic six months, something had to take second place, or maybe third or fourth place. No matter how you look at it, I am back, and ready to tackle whatever life throws at me. I have learned so much about myself over the last five or six months, and as much as I would love to share it all with each of you I will not bore you with the details. Suffice it to say I have grown and I have learned. I have been to the mountain top and even to the bottom of the valley. As this is my first blog in quite sometime I will keep this one short and starting tomorrow will attempt to thrill each of you with what is on my mind, in my heart, and from the deepest part of my soul. Wow, that makes it sound almost epic. Well maybe not epic, but certainly inspirational.

I was talking with a good friend today. Maybe that is what helped me make the decision to begin writing again. Then again, maybe it was just the right time. Throughout the last six months I have never lost my desire to reach out to the masses with my story of True Destiny. I think I needed the last few months to know deep inside of myself that what I believe is truth to me, and now I want it to become truth to you. I have had many opportunities over the last few months to run and hide. I would be a liar if I said I hadn't given thought to that, but there will always be a part of me who will not quit, and an even bigger part of me who refuses to accept defeat. I hope you will look past my time of absence, and realize that what I have to write will be pertinent to you, and you will be able to pick up where I left off.

I will endeavor over the next few months to speak what is inside my heart and with each of my words paint a picture of what is truly important in life. Now what is important to me may not necessarily be important to you. But through it all you may be able to find what is important to you and you will take the steps to walk in your Destiny. I had the opportunity to speak to a few friends over the last few weeks. During these discussions we talked about taking a leap of faith and begin walking in the direction of each of our destinies. One of the fears that many people have is taking that first step, but then getting knocked back three. We all have those moments when we get kicked down, pulled back, or otherwise lose ground. But before you lose heart think about this. If you get knocked back a few steps you can always take back the ground you originally took. However, if you never take the first step and through life's difficult times, which you know will happen, knocks you back, then you have something to take back. Never see losing ground as an end to the game. On the contrary it is your opportunity to show what you are made of and prove to yourself that you have what it takes to be who you were created to be. I have taken more ground, lost more ground than the average person will ever know. I have known failure of monumental proportion. I have lost more than one could ever imagine and through it all, I am still standing and still confident that I will walk in my destiny.

As we begin this journey again I want each one of you to realize that with tragedy comes opportunity. With opportunity comes challenges, and with challenges comes triumphs. Some triumphs are small, some are huge, and others are how ever you would like to size them up. To many, triumph comes just by crawling out of bed in the morning. Others will see triumph only when they accomplish something that has never been done before. Where ever you fall on the spectrum is unimportant. For my triumphs are mine, and yours are yours. Certainly others can have a part in these triumphs, but when it's all said and done, you still guided the ship and you got to the right place at the right time.

I asked each of you to read what I write with an open mind, without judgement, and with a desire to walk away knowing that you have what it takes to be who you are supposed to be. It's time to forget about molds and be yourself. I want to know the real you, and hopefully you will come to an understanding of the real me when you read this daily.

Yes I am different, and yes I believe that the best part of you probably has not been discovered yet. But that discovery is probably the single most important thing you will ever do. Knowing who you are is something that no one can take away from you. Knowing who you are is something that few people ever discover. Knowing who you are is the first step in walking out your True Destiny. Face it, if life is a journey, why go it alone. As long as I have breath, you will never be in this journey alone. That I promise you.

True Destiny, If Life is a Journey, why go it alone?

As much as I would like to write every day it appears that my days have become increasingly more complicated with a new job and learning that job. I was not sure at first that this was the best move to make, but after much soul searching I made the determination that in fact it was a great move and thus far I have zero regret in the decision I made to come to work here. It has however made it much more difficult to write a blog on a daily basis, but I will give it the old college try and do the best I can to at least write a few times a week.

I was privileged to be able to give a presentation to 32 unemployed professionals the other day. It was a great day and I was overwhelmed by the response I received from those in attendance. As would be expected I spoke about destiny and the fact that these individuals have been given a second chance to find what is most important to them and for once in their life not settle for second best. I must say I was in my element and the three hours flew by so quickly. I am forever reminded by events like this how important it is that each of us find the passion in our own life and pursue that passion. I have said many times in the past that when you are on your death bed you are going to reflect on life and more often than not will look at the missed time you had with family and loved one. In addition, you may also have the I should have done this, I could have done that, what if I would have done this. Passion is what drives most people, and passion is what most other people are drawn to. We all have passions in our lives. To some this passion is expressed in what they do for a living. In others it is expressed in what they do for fun. And then you have the group who express passion in what they do for others. No matter what group you fall into, and everyone falls into one group or another, everyone has passion. Some may not want to acknowledge it, but passion is there whether they want to admit it or not.
In my opinion only a fool will say that passion is void in their own life, and no matter what they do they will say it does not exist. As B.A. Baracus from the A-Team says "I pity the Fool".

I have a belief that people, whether they want to admit it or not, are passionate at heart. Oh sure, life has a way of diminishing our passion from time to time, but that doesn't make it go away. Our passions may be buried beneath layers of hurt, discouragement, and apathy, but it is still there and it wants to make it's presence known in each of our lives. I have been asked more times than not "How do I discover my passion?". Let me preface my comments with this statement; your passion is just that your passion. It isn't from someone else and it isn't what others tell you. Your passion is your passion. Ask yourself this simple question; what makes you happy? What is it that you look forward to the most each day, each week, each year? What puts a smile on your face no matter what type of day you are having? What can make the bleakest day seem bright and cheerful? Ultimately this is something that you have passion about. I think people have the wrong definition of passion. Take the most burly rugged guy, who thinks passion is a ladies thing. They confuse manliness with passion. They think that passion is feminine and not something they need or want to display. Boy are they wrong, I know some of the most "manly" guys that walk the planet who happen to be some of the most passionate people I know. Our passions should motivate and inspire. Passionless people are only that way because they have not found an outlet to release the passion that resides inside of them. I am reminded of the great questions of life. If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to see it does it make a noise? Does the light in the refrigerator go off when you close the door? Why is it that we drive on the parkway, but park in the driveway? Is passion only in someone that displays it? I think not. I think we all have passion some are just not willing to display it.

Do yourself a favor and discover your passion. Don't deny it, and whatever you do don't bury it. Somethings in life are worth exploring and discovering your passion is something we all need to do, something we deserve to do. Let me leave you with one final thought; don't fool yourself into thinking having passion in life is not important. It is such an important part of every life. People who think they have no passion just haven't taken the time to reflect on the important things in life. What is most important to you is more often than not a passion of yours. Passion is what drives us, motivates us, inspires us. Passion is what we all desire whether we want to admit it or not. Passion is....... I guess maybe it's time for you to finish that statement. Think about it.......

True Destiny, If life is a journey why go it alone?

Well it's time to jump back in the saddle and grace the pages of this blog once more. I have taken some time off to begin a new career with a great company, but part of me was missing and that part is what I try to impart to you each day. I have had lots of time to think about things since I last posted. I must say that life is pretty good right now, and with the exception of needing 28 hours in a day to get everything done, I can honestly say I am enjoying myself quite a bit. I have had the opportunity to meet several new friends over the last few months and am looking forward to cultivating those relationships in the future.

I'm sure many of you will wonder if I will continue in the same vein with my writing. Are you kidding? Did you really need to ask that question? I am singularly focused when it comes to my writing, and I'm not sure there is much that I can do about that. I am that I am!! When one begins to look at life and what is important, it doesn't take long to realize that what motivates us is what or who we are and there is not much in this world that will change that. I will forever desire to help others walk in their destiny and become the people they were intended to become no matter what circumstances they find themselves in.

Now that being said I do have a few nuggets of wisdom to share with you today. To some these may be things you have heard before, to other's it may be the first time, but we all know the first time is the best time for many things in life. Having been through the ringer over the last six or so months I can attest to the fact that it is always darkest before the dawn, but if you will simply extend your faith things will ultimately work out in the end. Now that's not to say that there are not a few skinned knees in the process. I can in all truthfulness tell you that not long ago I was at the point that if I had owned a gun I may have put it to my temple and pulled the trigger. I thank God for my girl "Grace" who will forever be the one who helped me through my toughest times, and gave me hope. Every one needs a "Grace" or for others a "Will". I am thankful that I came through this period of time, and I can honestly say it taught me a lot and many of the lessons I learned were ones that I had gone through before but like a dummy didn't learn from them, so was forced to go through it again. I guess the second or third time round Robinhood's Barn one finally learns a thing or two and is finally willing to do the things that need to be done to move on with life.

If you are in similar circumstances, or going thru the same stuff, don't loose heart. The light at the end of the tunnel is growing brighter and brighter. If I have learned one things over this past period of trial it is that life is so worth living and the importance of having friends and loved ones can never be over emphasized. Had it not been for friends and loved one I may have very well pulled the trigger, or at the very least ended up in the loony bin with a complete mental breakdown. Those that know me know that I am one of the most upbeat people walking the planet. It takes a lot to get me down, and it's not very often that I am not able to rise above the fray and carry on with life. However, the last year I have hit several low points and thank God daily that I was able to get above them and survive. If you are faced with a situation where you see no end in sight. A situation where all things seem dark and dreary, or a situation where you just have no idea what to do next, then know it will get better.

I'm not sure that I will be able to write every day in the future, but I will try to write as often as possible and as always will try to inspire everyone. If I have learned one thing over the last month or so, it is that my desires and dreams have not shifted and I still want to touch each life I come in contact with in a personal way, hoping against hope that I can inspire them to go after their dreams and destiny. If by being away for the last month I have caused you to stumble I ask for your forgiveness, and will do what I can to make it up to you. I will forever be the one to inspire, motivate, and be there to pick you up if you fall. Oh to be perfect, it is a nice thought but so far from reality. I fail, I pick myself up, and I try again. That's all I can expect from myself and that is all I can ask you to do. So let's restart this journey together and see if we can't put a dent in your goals, and while we're at it put a smile on your face. Think about it......

True Destiny; If Life is a Journey, Why go it alone?

I have come to the determination that I need to change the style of this blog. This will be my last blog until I bring it up on the new platform. I will see what I can do about talking all the old blogs and putting them into the new format. I was reading some other blogs that exist on the net and realized that mine was anything but great. Please bear with me as I try to bring this up to a standard that is worthy of your readership.

Until then, may blessings abound in each of your lives and may you discover the hidden treasures that exist in all of us. It is those treasures that the world so desperately needs right now and you are the only one that can unlock it from inside of you for others to enjoy. It is my wish that happiness and joy follow you each day of your life and that you are able to discover the destiny that is and was created just for you.

True Destiny; If Life is a Journey, Why go it alone?

Another week is coming to and end, and what a crazy week it has been. Not crazy because things didn't go as planned. Not crazy because I never had time to relax. Not crazy because I didn't know what direction I was headed. It was crazy because that is what life is like most of the time. I'm not sure anyone can get up in the morning knowing with any great certainty what is going to be played out from day to day. Oh sure we have plans for each day, but generally by the time I finish my first cup of tea, things have been blown out of the water and I find myself flying by the seat of my pants. Now flying by the seat of one's pants is not always a bad thing, heck it adds a certain spice to life, but there are some days when I would just as well have smooth sailing and a charted course for the day. Oh we can all have dreams can't we?

As I was contemplating what to write about today I must confess that I have run into a road block of sorts in regards to what direction I want this blog to go. I am very guilty of writing about dreams, aspirations, and destiny on just about a daily basis. I know there are people out there who grow weary of hearing about this each day, and yet I am hopelessly locked into this "walk in your destiny" theme. Try as I might I just don't think I can go another direction. So that being said, if you are tired of hearing about this stuff, just don't bother to read this anymore. Trust me, I can see why things might get old after a while. However, I for one need to hear positive spins on a daily basis. Life sucks a fair amount of the time and if I can offset the suckiness of life just a bit you can bet your bottom dollar I will do everything I can to do just that. That being said let's talk about your dreams and desires, and just what it is going to take to get them out of the dream stage and onto life's stage. You can have all the great dreams in the world and until you put action to them you will continue to operate in the dreams stage and never get to reality. Now I have heard people say in the past that dreams are not reality and you need to keep your feet on the ground. Well to a certain extent I can't disagree with that statement. Problems arise however, when people simply dream and never take any action toward those dreams. I would say that doing that is a huge waste of time and in some instances a huge drain on one's mental state. I guess one of the first questions you have to ask yourself is why do I have these dreams? What is it that I am supposed to do with them and when am I supposed to do it? These seem to be the million dollar questions and often we don't have the answers. But trust me when I say there are answers out there for you. Sometimes you just have to dig them out of the muck and mire we walk around in from time to time.

I don't have all the answers, wish I did, but I just don't. But what I do have is an insatiable appetite for adventure in my life and often my dreams will lead me to the place where I can experience the excitement I am looking for. Your dreams are there for a reason, and you need to determine what that reason is. What are you supposed to be doing with your life? What is my purpose in life? What, what, what? When you can get to the point in life where you can answer all the whats and whys, then you are well on your way to walking in your dreams and ultimately walking in your destiny. Let's face it, walking in one's destiny should be the ultimate goal for everyone. Regrettably so few people ever get to experience their destiny. Life gets in the way and that stops many in their tracks. Wouldn't it be great if every dream we ever had came to fruition, and we could be on cloud nine 24/7? Is it likely that that will ever happen, no probably not, but we sure can have fun seeing how close we can get to making it happen. I would rather attempt something great and fail then attempt nothing at all and succeed. There is no shame in coming up short from time to time. There should be shame in never trying. Don't make the mistake of talking yourself out of your dreams. Sure some of them may be tough and you may have to attempt them more than once, but the fact that you are going after them puts you in an elite category.

One final thought: I am guilty of sitting on my dreams for fear that they were too big, or that I would not be able to do it exactly perfect. I am not proud of that fact, but honesty is the best policy as far as I see it. Let today be the first day of going after all that is in your heart and know that small baby steps are OK. Running around like a bull in a china shop may not be the best thing to do. Take time, not too much time, but take some time to think about the things in your heart. Determine why they are in there, and determine that you are going to give life to your dreams. When it's all said and done you don't want to play the "what if" game. I have done it to many times and the "what if" game is one that can not be won. I believe in you and others around you believe in you also. Draw on them, and see if things don't start picking up for you. Think about it......
