What have you learned today?

http://www.flickr.com/photos/7815007@N07/26661249167
Every now and again I'm a little slow on the uptake with certain things.  Typically I'm a very visual person, and once I see something I'm pretty good at remembering it for quite some time.  Statistically, as today's blog picture states, most students have to be exposed to a new idea or informational knowledge four times before they are able to really hold on to it for more than just a nanosecond.  That being said, adults are probably no better equipped to learn then the average student.  I'm not saying this to belittle anyone, I'm saying this to emphasize the need to really latch on to those things that are really going to be strong impressions in your life.

In most of my writings I try to hammer certain points over and over again.  Some have accused me of beating a dead horse, but what I attempt to do is provide you with ideas and information that I feel will change your life for the better, and these are the bullet points that I will try to cram into your brain as often as I can.  There are certain truths that everyone needs to hold on to and certain truths that will or should be guiding post for your everyday life.  These truths, I believe, will change you forever if you will simply let them in.  We are such beautiful and powerful creatures yet so many people walk around with little or no knowledge of who or what they really are.  I'm here to tell you that you can have it all if you will simply empty yourself of ego dominance and open yourself up to the real you, the authentic you, the you that has been around since the beginning of time.

So what have you learned today?  We all learn something new each and everyday.  What we learn may never change another person's life, and it may not even change your life, but learn we do.  If one is wise they will be open to new things, expand their knowledge base, and most importantly, don't discount something out of the norm simply because it is out of the norm.  When I first opened myself up to learning about the real me I was skeptical.  I wanted to believe that I was something special, but my only point of reference at the time was believing that I was just a mortal destine to live a normal mortal life.  When I first looked at my creation I didn't see what the big deal was.  I had struggled for years with self-esteem issues.  I didn't see perfection in my design.  I didn't see perfection in my home town, or even in my own home.  When I first accepted that my being here was in the perfection of the Universe I was floored to say the least.  It took me months and months to accept what in actuality I had known my entire life, but was too afraid to show it, share it, or own it.  I so desire each of you to learn the significance of your being.  This is the reason I write about it over and over again. Yes I might sound like a broken record, but until such time as you accept your perfection, you are going to be running around going after something that you will never ever obtain.  If the only thing you ever take away from one of my blog post, or one of my books is the knowledge of who and what you are then I will be so so grateful.  The time has to come when you need to shed your old skin and begin a life that is based on your perfection.

Time is a concept that we as humans have developed. Time is a concept that we have allowed to have far to much influence in our lives.  Forget about time and allow your destiny to come out and introduce itself to you.  My destiny is writing about destiny.  My mission is to teach others about the real beauty of who and what they are.  My charge is to change the world one life at a time.  Have you learned what your destiny is?  Have you discovered your own mission in life?  Have you accepted the charge you were given before you took your first breath?  My dear friends today is a day to learn something that will in fact change your entire life forever.  I know it might seem like I am being overly dramatic, but I can no longer let a day go by that I don't at least try to change one life.  If that life is yours, welcome to the picnic.  If you are still waiting for the earth to shift it's axis before you make a move, well hold on tight then.

What did you learn today?  Sometimes what we learn is not earth shattering.  Sometimes it might be as small as a mite.  Forget about measuring things in man's view of things.  If you can accept the truth of who and what you really are, that I can tell you that is bigger then anything the world have ever seen or will ever see.  Some may scoff at that, but they are the ones who still see themselves as small and inconsequential.  When you accept your greatness, your Deity, your infinite self, that my friends will be the day that the world will change for you in a manner that, well let's say there are not words enough to describe what a great time it will be.   Take some time to quiet your mind and simply think about what infinite means.  Infinite has no beginning and no end.  It has always been and will always be.  You my lovelies are infinite.  There is nothing that can compare to who you really are.  I want you to tell yourself you are infinite.  Say it over, and over, and over, and over again.  Sooner or later you are going to start believing it, and when that happens watch out.  Once you learn about your greatness, that you are in fact God waling the earth, that is the day that will change your life forever.

So what have you learned today?  It is my hope that you have started to accept certain truths, and it's those truths that will finally set you free and place your feet upon a path toward your destiny.  I know who I am, do you know who you are?  You are so beautiful, so perfect, so unique.  It is time that you accept all that you are.  It is time to learn about the real you, the authentic you, the infinite you.  This is what you can learn today, and once learned, you can teach others.  Together we will change the world one person at a time.

The Big Adventure

http://www.flickr.com/photos/96286724@N02/39194005605
Oh how life can be an adventure, if you let it that is.  Some people run from adventure because let's face it, adventure is sometimes anything but a sure thing.  What lays ahead is sometimes a mystery, and many don't like mystery in the least.  What I want you to do today is embrace adventure.  Wrap you arms around all those things you have been setting on the back burner because you either didn't have the time, or you didn't want to chance anything.  In reality life can be pretty boring without adventure added to it.  I for one love change, love adventure, and I cherish opportunity to try new things, and see different locations.

When my husband and I moved to Texas from Maine, we knew it was going to be an adventure.  Sure there were times when we didn't know what was going to be around the next corner, but I at least had an inner knowing that this was the right move at the right time.  What many of you need to do is simply give up the notion that you have to have all the answers before you take a single step. If you hold on to this believe you are never going to move an inch, and trust me, you have to move if adventure is ever going to be a part of your life. How may people do you know who are constantly bemoaning how life is?  How many people do you know who walk around every single day just wishing things were different for them?  How many people do you know who you simply don't want to be around because they try to take you down to their level of misery?  I can almost guarantee you that these people are the ones who run away from adventure in their life.  This my friends is no way to live.

If you are ever going to really live, and I mean really live, you are going to have to incorporate adventure into your life.  Let me say that again, you simply have to embrace adventure and see it for what it is, the best part of being alive.  Why people run from adventure is anyone's guess, but I can assure you that a life without adventure is no real life at all.  Why do I say this?  I've been in places where I was stagnant and didn't care if I lived or died.  I've been wrapped around the wagon wheel and had no idea how to unwind myself.  I've seen what life can be like when you grab adventure by the horns and take the ride of your life.  People say that the only sure things in life are death and taxes.  I'd like to add one more to the list:  a life without adventure is simple existence at best.  Let me ask you, who really wants to just exist?  There are so many things to experience in life and if you are wise you are going to try to experience everything you can.  If you are in a rut isn't this the perfect time to begin something new.  I get how "new" can be frightening, but that fright comes from a place that just wasn't meant for you.

Believe it or not you don't have to jump in with both feet when it comes to adventure.  You initiation into adventure might be as small a thing as taking a different route to work one day.  I get how people are creatures of habit, but those habits tend to freeze you in a place that never wants to let you go.  Let's be real, do you really want to be in the same place twenty years from now?  Hey, if you're content where you are, who am I to suggest you change things up.  That being said I've met very few people in this life who couldn't use a change or two in their life, and that includes me, myself, and I.  How many people do you know who could use some joy and happiness in their life?  I will bet you dimes to donuts that these people run from change, and even the thought of adventure sends them into a tizzy.  It's time to embrace all that life has to offer, and adventure is a huge offering to anyone who is willing to accept it.

So here's the big close, the push, the sell:  get out there and try something new.  It can be small, or for those who love a challenge, let it be big.  No matter where you fall on the scale go out and do something out of the norm.  I promise you one thing: if you're willing to take a chance then chance will favor you with good results.  Remember that everything we go through has been put in front of us to teach us lessons.  I for one love to learn new things, and I love experiencing new things.  I stay mentally young by trying new things, and you can maintain that youthful outlook if you are willing to try new things.  Adventure is for everyone, and everyone should be looking for opportunities to experience new adventures.

Let me leave you with this one last thought.  If adventure is something you avoid then you are going to miss out on so many great things in life.  If adventure is something you avoid then you are going get pretty bored after a while, and boredom will shorten almost any life.  If adventure is something  you run from, life is going to run away from you, and you're going to be left wondering what happened to your life.  It's time to go out there and really experience life to it's fullest and part of that living is going on an adventure.  Once you dip your toe in the waters of adventure I assure you that it will only be a matter of time until you throw yourself completely into it.  Come on in boys and girls, the water is fine!

The right side of history.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/131814204@N04/47845998711
There have been many, many situations in the past where each of us could have been on either the right or wrong side of history.  Today I want you to think about yourself and determine if you are heading for the right side of your own history.  We all have choices to make in life.  Sometimes we've made the right choice and sometimes, well let's say we didn't settle on the right side of things.  Now there's no use crying over spilled milk.  There will be times when we just choose unwisely, but that is not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination.

Life lessons, good or bad, are the things that have helped to mold and shape us.  We go through certain things so that we might become what we were always intended to be.  There are times when we need to learn lessons, but our failure to learn something simply means we will have yet another opportunity to go through something until we pick up on what it is we are supposed to learn.  Is it your intention to end up on the right side of things, or will you continue to go through the grindstone of life, always wondering just what the hell is going on?  Ending up on the right side of things is always going to be your own choice.  Certainly there will be input from others and varying thoughts from those who believe they know best, but ultimately it is always going to be your decision to make.  You will decide what side of things you are going to end up on.

I guess one might be asking just what is the right side of things?  The right side is going to be different for every individual.  What is right for one might or might not be right for you.  Copy cat learning is not the answer.  Just because something worked for someone else doesn't mean it's going to work for you.  Just because you did something yesterday doesn't mean you will be able to do it again today.  Times change, conditions differ, and outcomes are any ones guess.  If you are going to end up where you need to be, doing what you were intended to do, you are going to have to start listening to your own heart and follow the guidance from deep within your being.  What might appear to be the right side of things on the surface, might be anything but the right side when you start listening to your spirit.  You will finally reach a point in your life when going with the flow just isn't going to work for you any longer.  Now I'm not saying that you can never seek out assistance from others.  It is my hope that there will always be people around who are willing to lend a hand when needed.  What I'm talking about is always reaching out for help even before you try to figure things out for yourself.  There is an old saying that many hands make light work, but when you are dealing with decision making, too many opinions simply muddy up the waters.

Making decisions can sometimes be overwhelming.  Coming face to face with challenges is not something everyone is comfortable with.  Landing on the right side of a situation is a crap shot some might say.  I hold the belief that staying on the right side of things is a choice, and you are the only one who can decide.  Think of it this way: if you are facing a life or death decision, do you really want to put the outcome into the hands of someone you hardly know?  If you are facing a critical situation would you rather control the outcome, or give up your rights and let someone else dictate what the outcome will be?  Given the choice I think I might want to lead the charge, especially if my own life is involved in any way.  That being said, doesn't it then make sense that you should be the one directing things in your life and not giving it over to others who might not have your best interest at heart?

Here's the bottom line:  you decide what side of things you are going to end up on.  You have the right to take advice from others, but you also have the ability to separate the wheat from the chaff.  Each of us has the ability to hear directly from our Creator.  You can call him/her God, Spirit, Source, it matters not.  That which created you enabled you to communicate directly, and those who choose to do so will find themselves on the right side.  Those who don't, will find themselves wandering about never quite knowing what to do next, where to go, or even why they are where they are.  I've spent so many years wandering in the wilderness.  I've felt alone, defeated, and oh so weary of life.  When I finally opened up my understanding of who and what I was, things changed.   When I finally started listening to my heart things changed.  When I finally gave up on allowing others to control me, things changed.  If you are looking for change then maybe this is a good time to tune into the greatest communications systems ever known.  Why go through an operator when you have a direct line?  Getting yourself to the right side of things is nothing more then getting yourself to listen to what your spirit is telling you.  Your spirit was 100% developed and functioning even before you took your first breath.  Sadly many have drifted away from even recognizing their spirit, and the only outcome that is possible when this happens is being on the wrong side of things.  If you desire change, then start to listen to what Spirit is saying to you.  If you desire success, then start to listen to what God is saying to you.  If you desire to become what you were always intended to become, then start listening to your source.  I promise you that things will change direction, and the direction you point to will be the direction you were always intended to go.

Life may be fleeting, and we may only occupy this human body for a finite amount of time, but trust me when I tell you that your spirit is infinite and eternal.  Why would you want something this valuable to simply sit on the sideline and observe things.  I for one want all I can get, and in order to have that I need to listen and decide what is the right side to end up on.  I encourage you to familiarize yourself with your true self, your true essence, and once you do, lets just say that this journey of discovery will be something to shout about.  Life can be brutal if you let it, but it can be grand beyond your wildest dreams if you will simply discover the significance of your being and listen to what you're being directed to do.

One step at a time, one day at a time.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/150312413@N06/45720670175
They say that the journey of 1000 miles begins with the first step.  Well my journey of some 1900 miles began with the first step, and now my journey is one day at a time.  Living in the moment is really the only option that a wise person should choose.  You can't change a thing about yesterday and most people are fairly unaware of what is going to confront them tomorrow.  Living in the moment then really is your only true option.

When my husband and I decided to make our move from Maine to Texas there were some moments of concern. but deep down within the inner depths of my being I knew it was the right move, and I knew it was the right time.  Truth be told the Universe did have to prompt me fairly hard at first, but once the decision was made, things were pretty simple.  Now change for many people is something they fear, it's something they dread, and it's something that they try to run from at almost any cost.  Let me assure you that change hardly ever has killed anyone.  As a matter of fact, change is what keeps us young.  What ever you do, don't allow your concern over change stop you from being where you need to be, and doing what you need to be doing.  Even when faced with huge changes, things still only go one step at a time, and one day at a time, don't forget that.

One of the things that I had to keep in mind was that I was making this move in conjunction with the rest of the Universe.  Many tend to see them selves as small and inconsequential, but that is thinking that is never going to get you to your destiny, nor is it going to bring any joy to your life.  When you are walking together with the rest of the Universal Conscientiousness, you have unlimited power and ability.  Sadly most people have never given any thought to who and what they are, nor do they understand the significance of being a part of the Universal One Mind.  Believe it or not, the Universe  is the sum total of all its parts.  If you are looking for perfection, then look no further then the Universe.  If you are looking for assistance, look no further then the Universe.  If you are simply feeling alone and isolated, then look to the Universe.  Many might be wondering why I bring this all up today?  Maybe I needed a refresher on who and what I am.  Maybe I just want you to see the significance of who you are.  Maybe I just wanted to shift the focus onto what is best, and not look at those things we no longer see as useful to us.  What ever reason, there is power in the Universe and that unlimited power is already yours.  All you need to do is reach out for it and use it for its intended purpose.

I've learned many lessons over my lifetime.  It would be hard to pin point what is the most significant lesson I've learned, but one that has to be at least the top two or three on my list is learning that I was not destined to just be. I don't have to fit into any particular pattern.  I don't have to follow every direction or rule.  I don't have to accept a life of drudgery and unhappiness.  We have all been conditioned to believe certain things, and every so often we finally realize that those things we have been told we must adhere to, well they simply don't apply to us any longer.  The future is yours to design if you will forget about the past and focus on who you are.  Now I can't always say that I have always known the real me.  There are days that I still have to remind myself of who and what I am.  I will tell you that had I not known the real me, the authentic me, there wasn't a chance in hell that I would have picked up my whole household and moved 1900 miles.  I know that the next phase of my journey starts here in Texas, and I simply took the leap and pulled the trigger.  I think there are many people out there who simply need to take a leap of faith and do what their heart is telling them to do.

No matter where your journey may take you, and no matter what obstacles or barriers you may encounter along the way, you will be so much happier doing what you were created to do.  I love writing and I love talking to others about destiny, self-discovery, growth and the like.  I am so blessed that I am able to do what I do, but you are no different, and as I have said so many times before, the Universe and God are no respecter of people, so what happens to one, will happen to all others.  If you are still waiting for the door to open, maybe you are looking at the wrong door, and maybe you need to figure out what you're really supposed to be doing with your life.  I don't say that to be cruel, I say that because I want you to experience the joy of doing what you truly love doing, and not be shackled to a job or position that is only there to pay the bills.

As tough and as tiring as these last few months have been, as we settle into our new home I am so thankful for having made the decision to move, and I am so thankful that I followed my heart and not my head.  Sometimes you just have to stop thinking about things, and really start feeling things.  I knew it was going to feel great being here in Texas.  I knew it was going to feel great doing more with my writing and speaking.  This is what drew me to move, and this is what excites me even more today.  If you lack that excitement, maybe moving to Texas isn't the answer, but maybe doing something different is.  There is no reason to feel stuck, and if you do, it's time to cut loose and just take a leap.  Your journey will begin with the first step and it will be one day at a time, but I assure you that it will be a journey that you will never forget, and it will be a journey that you will never ever want to end.
